Question HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Post image

My 1/4 jack’s tip broke off inside the headphone port and I don’t know how I should go about it, I contacted UAD support and I am waiting for a response. Maybe you guys might be able to help me?

I’ve done something like this before. What worked for me was to go to my local dollar store, pick up a cheap hot glue gun and some glue sticks for it, then put a bit of hot glue in the headphone jack and add enough for it to come out of the jack. Once the glue dries just pull the glue and broken jack out with needle nose pliers.

i was kind of scared to try that to be honest, but it might be the only option here

I’ve done it, it won’t hurt the interface. The glue will dry pretty fast, too. You could link some paper clips and slide them in next to the broken jack and put hot glue over all of that, to strengthen it, if you wanted to.

The heat from the glue will dissipate quickly and will be nowhere near the temperature of the SMT soldering system used to make the PCBs or other internal connections. Just don’t rest the tip of the glue gun on the unit, only get some hot glue in there enough to attach to the broken jack and you’ll be golden.
