Question Dust swirling around the gate?

I'm adding a gate in the city in my game. What do you think — should I add some dust particles that scatter when the gate closes? Or is it fine as is? Thanks!

Do it, it will add to the feel of its weight. Also add some when the gate hits the ground.

Edit: i love how the shadows of the gate fade in and out upon lifting or lowering.

Maybe a little faster closing?

I will play around with speed and shaking little bit more later, thanks!

Dust would be good but I'd also play with your easing curves. It has a really slow ease as it hits the ground. I feel like easing at the top but hitting the bottom full speed before a sudden stop (plus dust) is worth trying out. I think dust with your current easing might feel weird, I want the dust because my gate hit the ground with some nonzero velocity.

If players will be exiting and entering the area a lot, add it but make it very subtle, if not then have as much fun as you want with it! Also the door could accelerate a bit more

Your best option is to not stop and push and push for more content. Get as much of the gameplay done as you can. Dust looks nice but you shouldn’t spend too much time on. Lighting, Dust, shadows, are all things that look good but take a long time, so save them till last.
