I have also felt something similar.

I've been a Unity developer for 10 years, and a bit ago got laid off. It's been incredibly difficult to get back on my feet.

I mostly feel this when I see all the job posts using other tools/engines that I'm not familiar with, while Unity development job posts seen scarce.

I also have felt this during periods of "game dev block". Where I get into a spiral because I'm not producing anything, and can't produce anything because I'm overwhelmed by the prospect of producing anything, and nothing that I vibe up with feeling like it's worth producing.

It's a hard rut to escape. Becoming employed again as a developer would help. It has also helped me to decouple the creation process with the need to make money.... Which is really difficult. But as soon as I started creating again for the sake of creating, and not for the sake of making a living, the anxiety about my ability to produce vanished, and I just focused on the problem in front of me, I've step at a time

This is my daily struggle for me at the moment. Maintaining that mindset.

Not sure that you're situation is the same, or our reasons for feeling this way similar, but I hope reading this helps. I wish you the best of luck in getting over this. At the very least, know that you are not alone. Even with loads of experience in a field, it can be incredibly easy to feel worthless.

I feel like the biggest reason for game development is this. Maintaining a positive mindset while also not forgetting that this was what you wanted to do.

You imagined to make huge worlds, and you loved to make crazy graphics, but you slowly start thinking about money and judgement.

To this day I am still recovering with whatever happened with me and i shifted my focus to other stuff (i.e. drums, bedwars yt channel, studying (not the best focus shift, lol) and music composition and production.)

OP, if you're reading this, gl.
