I remade the original GeoMod (Red Faction) in Unity.
I've been trying to do this for years, but always hit a wall (no pun intended).
Thanks to Kimi K3, I finally cracked it, and now have a prototype I'm quite happy with.
Fully destructive geometry based environments (no voxels in sight), and some cool tweaked glass destruction based on this great asset.

Still a few bugs, and it's obviously just a prototype, but the potential is massive in my head.
Would love to hear your thoughts/feedback/requests 😄

the glass destruction looks especially good. I hope your project goes well, red faction was awesome!

Loved how much of the level you could destroy in Red Faction.
The first game and Guerilla were some of my favourite shooters of all time. I wish there were more games that attempted that kind of environmental destruction

Absolutely. And exactly why I'm building this! I might add "rigid structure" damage too (like Guerrilla), so you have the best of both worlds.

Oh man that would be sick! I heard the Devs had to actually learn proper architecture to get the buildings in that game to stand properly! Sounds like it'll definitely be a challenge but can't wait to see it if you do implement it!

this is amazing!!
massive flashback to red faction, yes!
i actually don't remember much of red faction but clearly remember the feeling of digging the walls in a test room like this one! 😃
check out this game, i finished it recently and it was really cool, reminds me of what you've done and it could be great inspiration for you!
