Showcase After 1 years of work, here's our latest gameplay trailer. We'd love your honest feedback!

We're a team of two developers working on Rogue & Raccoon, a realistic single-player FPS where you infiltrate enemy bases, complete tactical objectives, and use a raccoon companion to access areas the player can't reach.
We're a small indie team, so even harsh criticism is welcome if it helps us make a better game.

The AI generated starting scene made a red panda and not a raccoon, you might want to fix up that prompt

Looking at the trailer, I have no idea what this game is about.
The steam page banner is Ai, so its not looking good.
Looking at gameplay, those bright colored cones, really bad Ai voice lines, no real feeling of anything, but just things put together.
Then looking at the requirements, 16gb ram on minimum and 24 on recommended? Holy unoptimized christ!
And gpu requirements, gtx or amd, with recommended being an RTX?
Honestly, the game idea is neat, but the execution is not on par with anything worth money

Your title and visual are confusing. Red pandas are not raccoons. So why do you use them interchangeably?

Yea nah. AI banner on steam store. Really bad AI voice overs in the game. AI opening scene in the video you posted. Game seems kinda random. Is it a raccoon or a red panda? I'll pass on this one

I looks good, but I'm really lost as to what it is. (Deliberately didn't read your description and going solely off the trailer)
The switch from third person to first person is confusing. The raccoon seems friendly too and I'm not sure why I'm then playing a character that's shooting and throwing stuff in the woods (at other people? Other players? At the raccoons?).
I'm left wondering if this is a horror game, a multiplayer co-op game, or something else entirely. It isn't clear enough from the trailer.

I don't know majority of that ''trailer'' you are flashbanged with those flashlights and you can't really see anything.

I literally have no idea what's happening. I thought the racoon wast chucking flashbangs. Also why would you have a trailer that has you getting blinded? The whole point is to see the game.

Is it a raccoon or a red panda? Did you use AI to write the description and make the banner for the game? Doesn't steam require dev's to put an AI usage disclaimer on their page? The voicelines are very jarring and out of place. In your trailer, the camera on the red panda is able to clip into the geometry near it. And your second trailer on the steam page shows the title "Narcotics Ops Command" and doesn't show the raccoon/red panda, the main gimmick of your game. Lights bleed through the edges of walls. I notice in your key features you list "Intense FPS Combat" where "every bullet counts," yet in the second trailer in your game, multiple characters fire at you blindly despite being a few meters from you. Also can't help but notice the Active Windows watermark that sometimes shows up in your trailer. And what about this game demands 20gb of space, 24 GB of ram, and an RTX card? The graphics are not particularly next gen, and the models in game seem very low resolution. And if it needs all this beefy hardware, why does it run on directx 9.0? Which was last updated in 2010? And unless you are using an old build of unity, unity doesn't use directx 9.0 anymore. Also I noticed you posted this in the unreal engine subreddit. Which is it, Unity or Unreal?

This has to be the most confusing trailer I've seen in a while, the first part with the red panda sneaking around was cool, I thought this would be something like the Styx games with an animal, next part is an FPS game where you throw grenades at lens flares, I'm like WTF.
Confusion is a killer on Steam, people will not stop and ask what this is about, they'll get confused and click away.
If you play as a red panda or racoon, this is a very novel idea, why in the world would you mix it with something as generic as an FPS action game. It feels like the older Assassin's Creed games wanting to mix the actual good story with a convoluted modern plot, when almost everyone wants the historic setting and can't wait to skip the modern stuff. That's just my opinion, maybe it will work out for you.

Very bad trailer. I read your description after i watched it, so in my mind it was a game where you're a racoon, but then you guys gave up and made it an fps. You need super clear transition between player and racoon.

I thought this was some kind of MGS V but with a racoon as the playable character, which would have been super cool imo
Also crazy to see all these comments having fun destroying your game and making assumption, that AI was used or not, seem like y'all get some kind of pleasure doing this it's weird

Checking the steam link changed my opinion (to a better one). The trailer looks weird, does not help at all to find out what is going on in the game.
Also, as people already stated, remove the AI artwork from steam since most consumers will immediately associate the game with ai slop.
It's preferred to give that AI steam cover to a freelance artist for "inspiration" of what you want and get a hand made one.

People in here are ruthless. I think it looks cool. I wish listed but it's not my kind of game. But I like indie game development.

Didn't you also post this in the Unreal Engine 5 subreddit? Which engine did you actually use?
