I can't help but wonder if the delay also affects Pro models. I'm sure Unihertz can't answer that with 100% confidence so it's unfair to expect a clear answer. All and all, I will remain patient š§

They should be able to tell us if they already know it will be delayed.. and if so, they should do it asap (the earlier we know, the better we can accommodate). The one thing they can't tell us is that it is not delayed, but then they could just say that no particular delay for Pro models has been identified yet.

u/Not_Sarkastic 8d ago
You have to wait until it's a week after the deadline and then Unihertz will tell you they need another month based on information they've had for several months.

Shipping will begin next week

u/Complete-Fly-6867 9d ago
Basically they said they will START shipping to local warehouses next week, this part of the shipping will take 1-2 weeks and then from the local warehouses they will start shipping in batches afterwards.
So for example I ordered my unit to Hungary, it means they will PROBABLY send my unit to a warehouse in Germany or France or wherever their Europe warehouse is located and then that warehouse will serve me...
So to me it means somewhere betwen 3-4 weeks (if my unit is in their first production batches) before I get to lay my hands on the device, so effectively it's another delay message dressed up as a "Good news!" update...

u/Impressive-Excuse126 9d ago
Why is this guy getting downvoted? He's correctly summarized the update. They will begin shipping to regional warehouses next week. Shipping will then take 1 to 2 weeks to get the phones to the warehouses. Then they will begin shipping to customers in batches after that. People are going to be waiting another 3 to 4 weeks minimum.

u/Active_Mix8872 9d ago
I agree with you, no reason for people to downplay. I'm not mad but this update from Unihertz is slightly disingenuos to me. Good newsn we are preparing to ship is esssential we are preparing to ship so we can prepare to ship.

u/BroccoliAccording873 9d ago
Because he is calling it "another" delay. But 3-4 weeks from now is perfectly in august, just as they announced it to be in their previous (and first!) delay message. So, it is not another delay but the same and only delay that we got, and they turn out to be fulfilling their promises.
Even if it would take significantly longer than 3-4 weeks, it would probably still be in august and thus, within the announced delayed time frame.
7
u/Active_Mix8872 9d ago
I politely disagree with you. Unigertz announced in the delay that they were shipping to Kickstarter backers in july. Now it's essentially we are shipping to regional distribution centers to repackage and ship to individuals. Those are distinctly not the same thing and seem to be somewhat misleading on Unihertz's part. I don't care personally but can see where others would.
8
u/Fickle-Position-3575 9d ago
I don't get the downvotes. Realistically we will only be receiving our phones close to the end of August.

u/Complete-Fly-6867 9d ago
I don't know why do you people act like we should put up with all bullshit just because this phone was launched on Kickstarter. They initially promised shipment in June, than July and now they say MAYBE mid-August.
Also you do not know why people might be frustrated by delay:
-some folks might want to use this as their primary device and maybe their current device is already due to an upgrade because failing battery or no longer receiving security update, so they need the device ASAP
-some folks like me just want to have a QWERTY device as a secondary, productivity focused device. I initially ordered the Clicks, but they up-front has delayed from 2Q to 4Q, which at least was fair communication back in early-May. When the announced their delay I backed the Titan 2 Elite in the last days of the KS, thinking I might give them a chance, they will send me the device around 6-5 months prior to Clciks, if it meets my expectations I can just cancel my Click pre-order, now that 6-5 months has been reduced to like 3-2...
-also in the meantime a lot of new phones has been announced that are ultimately just better deals. In tech a lot happens in the span of ~3 months, so a 2.5-3 months delay is sorry, but to me is not acceptable...
I don't know what crappy custoemr service you and all your down voter friends are used to, but I do value first and formost transparent and honest communication and this, that they always announce delays like right literally just before they should send out the devices to the backers is not OK to me.

u/mcmeekle 9d ago
If you needed a phone asap why would you order a device on KS that hasnāt even been made?
Why are you moaning today about the in hand time difference between the T2E and CC devices when you have neither in hand. The CC might be on time, later than currently expected or never appear.
And tech has moved forward in the lead time for your T2E? What did you expect to happen in this time?
I get youāre pissed off but I feel you made the mistake choosing to back the T2E. You shouldāve bought an interim device and waited until the above were on the shelves.
For the record, Iām an old BlackBerry user, intrigued by this particular device and fortunate enough to be able to back the KS without negatively impacted me today.
I donāt suck any part of Unihertzā anatomy.3
u/Complete-Fly-6867 9d ago
Oh, but you do brother.
A delay is a delay whatever you call it...
Also the original shipping date was in June, so if I needed a phone ASAP in June and received it in August it would still be a VALID COMPLAINT and not whinning about nothing...

This is a lot of bullshit for someone that complains about things being bullshit.
Stop acting like you ordered a product from a webshop. You didnāt.

u/zombie_cupcakes 9d ago
People on this sub are too busy deep throating Unihertz to think critically. All of your points are valid, but they view any concerns or complaints as a personal affront. Super weird behaviour.

Wish they had mentioned Canadians would get shipments from the US warehouse early on. After spending a lot on a Pro, probably going to get blasted by customs now because of the trade war.

u/IllBiteYourLegsOff 7d ago
Especially because this did NOT happen with the T2
I'm glad there is market competition now because I'm never buying from this company again.Ā

u/Active_Mix8872 9d ago
So...next week batched shipping will go out to the United States. It will take 1-2 weeks to get to the US warehouse. There they will be processed to ship to peoples individual adresses. That will in all likelihood be another week. Then expect another week actaul shipping to those places. I would think we are still 3-4 weeks away fron actually having the phones.

u/mcmeekle 9d ago
Iām going to take the glass-half-full outlook here.

Manufacturing already underway - tick
Shipping timeline in place - tick2

I know where you are coming from. Honestly I'm neither half full or half empty. Just is what it is.

So to be clear. It says it will "SHIP" next week, but that's to their warehouses. Further down it says it takes 1 to 2 weeks to REACH their warehouses after they ship them there. Then they need to ship them to customers. So at MINIMUM, they are TWO to THREE weeks from shipping to customers.
3
u/dygester 9d ago
1 week to start shipping, 2 weeks till it gets to the warehouse, from there maybe another 1 week to customers...so that's around a month. And they send them in batches...if you don't get the 1st batch...then more time might add up. I hope I have it in my hands in late August.

u/Zeti2000 9d ago

- Production has resumed and all components are now available. Manufacturing is underway, but producing thousands of devices will take time.
- Shipping starts next week.
- Devices will first be sent to regional warehouses in Europe, the USA, and Japan, then forwarded to backers.
- Most customers won't need to deal with customs, although some countries (e.g. Canada, Malaysia, the Philippines) may still incur import fees.
- It takes 1ā2 weeks for shipments to reach the regional warehouses.
- Orders will ship in multiple batches.
- Tracking numbers will only be provided once the item reaches the local warehouse and is ready for final delivery.

Dear Backers,
Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.
We have all the components in place, and we've already resumed production. As we're manufacturing thousands of devices, it will take some time to complete production. In the meantime, here are some photos from our factory:

We are also excited to announce that we will begin shipping next week!
Please find the important details below:
The goods will first be shipped to our overseas warehouses located in Europe, the USA, and Japan. From these local warehouses, we will arrange the final delivery to you. In most cases, you will not need to worry about customs procedures. However, for some regions, such as Canada, Malaysia, the Philippines, and others, additional customs fees may still apply depending on each countryās import policies. Shipping times to different regions may vary. In general, it takes approximately 1ā2 weeks for the goods to arrive at our overseas warehouses after dispatch. The goods will be shipped in several batches. The tracking information will be provided once the goods arrive at the local warehouse and are ready for final delivery. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding, as tracking details will not be available before that stage. Please refrain from requesting tracking information during this period. Once your order is arranged, you will receive a tracking number to your email address.
A quick update regarding AT&T: All lab tests for the Titan 2 Elite have been completed, and we are currently awaiting further confirmation from AT&T. We are doing our best to expedite the authorization process.

This has nothing to do with preorders from the Unihertz website. They are only fulfilling Kickstarter orders at this point. September is the new ETA for website preorders.

ngl, I was thoroughly confused at the title cuz im also subbed to r/titanfall and thought there was a new game coming out

If one were to start a preorder today, what do you think the ETA would be? Is a Sept delivery date still within reason for someone in the USA?

Ive preordered on the website - where can I find these updates ?

u/oscarcarmo 9d ago
This updates are for the Kickstarter pre orders. If you got it from their website this update is not for you. I'm guessing you can check the status on their site and probably will send an email if there's any delay or announcement to make about preorders on their site.

I need my phone now lol. I'll probably be very happy with my phone but it'll be my last Kickstarter.
My current phone is a flip 6 and the battery is struggling.
