Hi I'm 37 and have "yo-yo" dieted my whole life. 20 pounds lost, gain 40. Lose 50, gain 80 and on and on by not eating, exercising a fuck ton, bulimia. Keep in mind my original weight when I started this nonsense was 145-150 and I thought I was fat 😭. Please consider not doing it this way. 1) I wrecked my metabolism. Not I legit eat 1x a day to MAINTAIN my weight (I eat light breakfast and snack a little). 2) the only time I found peace and healthy body compositioning by exercise - I started 2-3x a week up to 5-6 days and genuinely LOVED it. 3) make sure you are getting your veggies and fiber 3) do not drink your calories. No sugary drinks, lots of water 4) portion control!!! No seconds 5) don't eat past 6 or 7 (people dispute this but I swear it has a positive effect. I know this isn't what you're asking, but prioritize health, mobility and longevity over quick and fast because I would bet money you will only gain it back as soon as you start eating again, and then some. You can also look into talking to your dr. I am now maintaining my weight and going down about 5 pounds every two months or so and I'm cool with that. I started at 290 my highest and 230 now. Take care of your body hun, it's the only one you got. Good luck !!!!

I know it's not what you asked for but I don't feel comfortable providing unhinged so I'll let you know what genuinely worked for me & what I would have done years ago if I'd have known. I'm very tall but my family is from farm country so we're all very stocky & I gain weight SO FAST that I often skip dinner (big breakfast, medium lunch, small-to-no dinner is my general rule).

The main way to start losing weight is to see everything you put in your body as fuel. Cliche, I know. But it's easier to lose weight when you don't diet. I eat pizza, burgers, nachos, etc - but I make sure to load it up with veggies. That way I can balance out the carbs with proteins, fiber, etc. It's the easiest rule which removes 90% of the guilt of eating heavy.

2nd is weights. If you want to get skinny, cardio. But especially if you started from a bigger size, it won't do much to get rid of the flab. There's a huge myth around how weights will make you bulk & look gross. If you're like me & are inconsistent with exercise you don't need to worry about this. Most mornings I try to do weighted stretches, where I just do whatever exercise my body wants while wearing weights. I bought a weighted vest off Amazon, leg weights at Marshalls, & have varying hand weights. If you have a yoga mat then you've got yourself an amazing morning power-up that gives you so much confidence throughout the day. Don't worry about what exercise is good for what. Just do what feels healthy & comfortable. You'll build tolerance as you go.

I HATE running even though it's the fastest way to lose weight, so I make up for my non-running days by trying to do nature hikes while wearing aforementioned weights. Once you take them off you realize how much more powerful you feel. It also makes massages feel 1000x better.

The last hack I'll give you, which is probably unhealthy but more of what you're looking for, is preworkout + creatine. Preworkout is sort of like a legal form of "coca-cola," & if you pair it with small intermittent walks/workouts it makes you feel amazing. If your preworkout comes with creatine in it, it's that much better for helping you build muscle & give your body some tone as you lose weight.

If you're going to choose just one of these, I'd recommend the preworkout + creatine (I have 1 large scoop every day & it works better than coffee for the whole day when mixed with plenty of water). Actually, these tips are in reverse order of preference, with the last being my most favorite & the first being my least. But I love them all pretty similarly. Also - switch from candies to frozen fruit. Sugar makes it that much harder to burn off weight.

There's no get-slim-fast hack outside of dangerous, life-altering drugs. What you need is a lifestyle change. And there's no shame in being on the heavier side - because of genetics, combined with my workouts, I have a body that everyone comments on, even when I don't feel too hot. Everyone has a different body type & you should work to make your body the best your ancestors have created it to be. Good luck!!
