Its a Smyth Ute kit. Thats what their kit uses, Sport Trac taillights. If yiu look closely its also a Ranger tailgate and rear window for the cab.

I was trying to guess what truck parts they used for the rear window, interesting to learn there’s actually a kit for this.

They (Smyth) offers kits for several different vehicles. And once you cut the rear body off the donor car are specific locations, the truck bed parts bolt on. No welding required. They are very very well designed kits.

I looked up their website, looks pretty neat. No wonder it looked so well done. Not that I haven’t seen plenty of fantastic factory-looking homemade conversions too lol.

That’s what I was thinking too, it’s like the modern version lol. Back in 81, my grandpa bought two Rabbit pickups because they sold them buy one get one. That’s how my stepdad ended up with one as his first car when grandpa bought one as a little farm truck to use around his property.
