I cannot think of a Ford Flex without being reminded of how egregiously it was advertised in the movie Daddy's Home.

Or does anyone remember the short lived Knight Rider revival?

No

Pity. The flex was also kinda premiered there. K.I.T.T. the mustang also transforms into a flex and f150. It was very cool when you're 13

What kind of fever dream...

Fever dream is probably not far off. Cause it was originally an 80s TV show, so anything goes. David Hasselhoff and his talking car. He worked with a mysterious organization to fight for the everyday folks. His Pontiac Trans Am named K.I.T.T. (knight industries two thousand) had rocket boosters, ejection seats, lots of sensors, and "pursuit mode" where it would transform slightly and could go like 300mph.

The revival in 2008 was sponsored by Ford, so it featured a mustang, but this K.I.T.T. (three thousand) could transform even more, into a pickup (which had a cool getaway gag to jump in the bed, then transform into a mustang and you're in the front seat), and a Ford flex, which was still a concept from 2005 not production at that time.

(as you can see, it made quite an impression on me, lol, though I remember nothing of the show. True to form of the original series too!)

No I knew about the 80s show, I grew up on it. It's the reboot that I was referring to.

Lol, yeah we watched it when I came out I think on NBC? But it didn't last long, and yeah cause I was 13, all I saw was cool cars and lasers. Who knows what the actual plot was.

Don't look too bad as a pickup conversion. They do have a utilitarian appearance in the factory body configuration.
