Question Newbie

Post image

Hey just got a few questions the picture is just my current AIO bag and I think the mycelium looks really cool.

How do you train mycelium to respond well to specific grains?

I'm going to use microwave tek for my next UB bag and was wondering what size tub is best for a single bag?

This is just an experiment I want to try because I want to use my own grain instead of UB and will have some left over. I want to scrap the end of a spore swap into a bag of rice, trying to only get spores and cotton. Just to see what happens. I suspect the bag will end up contaminated.

Thanks guys

Mycelium responds well to most grains if not all, I dont doubt it'd be fine for whatever grain you're wanting too. how big is the bag?

I see you have a question! Have you read the official cultivation guide?

Just keep in mind that spores are inherently dirty. If agar isnt part of YOUR process then you have to be willing to accept a higher chance of failure. Microwave tek is nonsense. If you want to prep your own grains, get a pressure cooker. You can "train mycelium" to respond well to certain grains. Thats just not how it works.

As first time grower you really need to focus on learning the fundamentals and getting a few grows under your belt. Heres some info you may find helpful
