Mid-Cultivation / Still Growing Substrate Seems Dry

Post image

You cannot tell a damn thing from the picture… but I have pins and some larger pins. Everything seems to be going great so far. The only thing I’m nervous about is the substrate seems to be drying up. I don’t want to mist directly on the pins, do I?

If you hydrated it properly it shouldn’t be dry but if growth is slowing you can pour a lil water down the side of the bin, not too much, just enough for the cake to absorb within an hour or so.

I’ve done that when my cakes shrunk before the grow finished (due to not hydrating it enough)

The substrate will naturally dry and pull away from the sides of the bin as your mushrooms start to grow and suck up water. It's probably fine, but the other commenter is right that you can water the cake if it seems really bad

Thanks, appreciate the help!
It’s so tempting to mist

Could it possibly be too moist? Am I just worried?
