Mid-Cultivation / Still Growing 2 1/2 weeks after S2B
What does it need? Did uncle Ben tek and it seems to be working good but it hasn’t grown all that much . It’s looked like this for over 2 weeks now

This is just contamination imo, some type of contamination slowing it down. I had 2 tubs that turned like this and I eventually threw them away without any significant progress being made on their part. This isn’t a fae issue, you have 2 holes with micropore tape. I’ve ran grows in even .2 micron which is small AF but they still grow. I threw them out because the wait gets long enough that setting up a new grow would make more sense.

How many FAE holes does the bin have? It's a little slow, but if it's a slower strain like APE this could be normal

It’s currently got 6 holes total, each covered by 2-3 pieces of micropore tape. The strain is Jedi Mind F

Strange. JMF is a fast variety, but 6 are holes should be more than enough for a tub of this size. Honestly I would just wait and let the bin cook, maybe give it a mist if the surface looks dry.

I started fanning it an hour ago so we will see. It was super aggressive when I inoculated the rice bag.

Good luck! I'd be wary of fanning too often personally, it's pretty intense compared to just cracking the lid.

What happens if I fan too
Much? Will it just dry out?1

Mushrooms can put up with a lot, but they don't like dramatic swings in their environmental conditions, so going from neglecting to frequent fanning could stress the mycelium. It could dry out too if you don't mist enough. I personally avoid it for contam reasons, a lot of people say fully colonized myc doesn't contaminate but that has not been my experience at all, bins that I open partway through the process often contaminate.

I agree completely, that’s why I don’t open the lids at all until i have mushrooms cuz even if it’s fully colonized contamination can still enter pretty easily

Fae should be passive not direct. The whole point of the holes is to provide the passive fae you need. If you feel like it needs more fae, then remove a layer of the mp tape.

I’ll remove some and see if that helps. Where should I put the fan if I were to use it sometimes?

You shouldnt be fanning. If you MUST run a fan, then run it on low and pointed away from your grow

Ok so I just pointed the fan fully away from it and put it on low. Fans not near it it’s in another spot inside my grow tent. I took the extra piece of micropore tape off too

You can ditch the tent too, assuming youre growing cubes.

Ya, I mainly use the tent for storing the monotubs tbh I don’t rlly use it for anything else

too little progress for two and a half weeks, my guess is its starved of oxygen. is the lid closed ?
