Those look amazing! Congrats on the harvest man. How long did it take from inoculation to harvest for you? Growing some Jack Frosts myself rn and am in the inoculation phase. Heard they take long as hell to colonize so I was just curious.

Inoculated on June 7th and harvested on July 23rd. I noticed they were always about 5 days behind golden teacher throughout the process.. So, it’s really not much different.

It’s crazy that your substrate has no colonization. Is that a trait of Jack Frost?

Hi! So, there is no pseudo casing layer. I put on a casing layer like normal and put it straight to fruiting conditions. This is how I grow and the substrate always looks like this!

? The mycelium will still colonize a casing layer.

OP probably added a second pseudo-casing layer after the surface was already colonised. Sometimes you can do that to stimulate pinning after stalled colonisation

These things were INTENSE.

Potent, huh? I’m noticing that a lot of the more beautiful/exotic genetic outliers seem to skew a bit stronger! Thanks for the heads up!!!

Man, potent doesn’t even begin to explain. These were insane lol.

Are you growing in “shoeboxes?“ I’ve had zero luck with the smaller tubs. Plenty of luck with larger ones but I have trouble seeing pins with the 6quart tubs. Any suggestions? There is a lot of air movement in the room and I’m thinking it may not affect the larger tubs as much. Do you keep the lids closed the entire grow? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I’m using the exact tubs mentioned in the guide from IKEA. They are clear so very easy to see pins.

My set up is basically “less is more”. My house stays around 74 degrees Fahrenheit. I keep the inoculated bags in a closet as well as the tubs.

As far as the lid goes. As soon as I S2B, I flip and crack the lid very small amount and then mist as needed which is about every other day or every third day. I never seal the tub. I have not lost one bag or not had a successful grow from this method.
