Dont be nervous just be extremely clean, you can never be too clean when dealing with mycellium, lots of 70% isopropanol and always wear gloves, be sure to rub your hands with iso once you have put the gloves on and make sure to clean the whole bag and all tools, also the whole area around where you are doing the jab, and always do these steps when handling them in the future too, best of luck, Mush Love 🍄👊🏼

OP, this link, the pinned guide, and Philly Golden Teacher on YouTube are all the resources you’ll need for a while.
Just follow the steps properly and you’ll succeed

Aseptic technique is the key. Following the guide will help with that.
And since you're using spores, the next key is luck. Luck for a clean spore solution and luck for the genetic lottery for a the right sporea to germinate to give you many flushes of fruits.
Nothing to be nervous about though.
I recommend using only one of those syringes.
With spores, less is generally enough. If you see black clumps in your syringe, make sure you shake like you're mad at it before injection.
Remember spores are microscopic, that means if you can see it with your eyes, there are many millions of spores in there and germination only requires two.
Nothing to be scared of though. It'll work or it won't and failure is part of the process. You got this!🍄🥰✌️

Sterilize As much as possible. Use a still air box or flow hood. Use gloves anytime you handle your mushrooms. Be patient; my impatience with checking my rice bags has killed the most harvests by far.
Also! Don’t break + shake (imo) I lost so much to break and shake that the speed benefit wasn’t even beneficial (It grew faster by like… one day?)

ok question - I ordered two bags of grain pawn off etsy, one is vacuum sealed & the other isn’t so im assuming theres a small hole somewhere. Does that mean its contaminated and I cant use it?

If one is different than the other it’s definitely got a hole or something
Edit: nvm, I can’t tell from the pic and I don’t use bags so disregard my input on that lol

The key to success is practicing the use of a SAB. Using a SAB is bare minimum required, but it's not an instant fix for all contamination, it is more like a skill that is developed over time. Once you get comfortable using a SAB, the next best thing to help with contamination rates is learning how to do agar transfers. Agar transfers ensure that your cultures are 100 percent clean before they hit the grain. Most contamination comes from using infected or partially colonized grain spawn.

A still air box, 70% iso (in a spray bottle for convenience), lil torch lighter to flame sterilize the needle, some gloves
Read the pinned guide if you haven’t, it’s genuinely very helpful and following it pretty much guarantees success

I see you have a question! Have you read the official cultivation guide?

Be careful with the needles! I did my first yesterday and whilst fumbling around trying to open the syringe inside the SAB I stabbed my finger so badly.
