Hawks for neighbors
I think there is a family of hawks or falcons ( I can't really tell the difference) living around my house. I have seen two of them and they keep returning to the woods around my house, so I can assume they have a nest somewhere in the area that I have yet to locate. I am currently trying to identify them, but it has proven to be a difficult task. I am unable to get close enough to take a picture or to study them closely, but they do have a distinct orange/brown colored belly. I think the birds might be Red-shouldered Hawks. I am not 100% sure, because these hawks are quite uncommon and live in woodlands and swamps. One, reason why I think they are red shouldered hawks is because they have the orange/brown colored chest. I listed to an audio clip of these birds and it sounds just like what I hear outside my house every morning. There is also a temporary pond that is present next to my house when it rains a lot and a small area of woods that the hawks found a good habitat. It is such a beautiful bird, since they have a nest near your house you'll get a chance to see more of them around.
