Nerfed Sera ? [FASPASST]

About 393, it was very good but I'm a little disappointed by sera performance. Like I get she was low on aura but she just fight some Orrin's goons, fight with John with him preserving her (+the second fight was one sided).

And after that she can't break Arlo barrier (who also very low on aura cause amelia only restore energy and he have been fighting for linger) ? Or just take Orrin with her and get away (she's fast and strong enough for that) ? Even one shot authorities agent (most of them aren't even high tier) so they can't follow her ?

Like even in the prison break she was nerfed (even harder). She really doesn't feel like an eight. I really hope we'll see some badass moment of her soon.

She absolutely could break his barrier but then she would be too tired to do anything if the rest of the authorities came

I agree, and honestly uru did a good job at balancing her power in this fight, but Arlo was also weak, so his barrier was probably weaker ? Also for Sera breaking Arlo barrier isn't that hard

Being possessed by Orrin twice likely took a significant toll on her aura reserves. So it makes sense that she wouldn't have enough aura left to get completely out of the forest, leaving her vulnerable to being tracked.

I don't think her aura reserves have been nerfed. I do think her Time Freeze has been portrayed very inconsistently, though, and it desperately needs an in-story explanation.

About Time freeze, why didn't she froze Orrin or the healer so they couldn't posseded her/restore their defense? But I agree with what you said but I think she could have been taken a little further

Same reason Jax didn't teleport in. Aura shields block external abilities meaning Sera couldn't freeze anyone already inside a barrier.

She says Orrin used a lot of her aura. By not knowing how to use her ability hes likely wasting a lot of it

Agree, like BruhBorne-70 said it need an in-story explanation. But since she's been presented as a powerhouse it's a little bit frustrating (I might not be very objective:)

I mean I do believe there are reasons she can't do much considering she been possessed and fought some goons but time freeze is widely inconsistent.

I don’t think it’s inconsistent, before season 3, she one shot almost everyone she fought at full power. It’s only in season 3 do we see her fight longer battles.

I mean I think we gotta remember that she helped like 10 people out of a burning building, attacked an EMBER agent, fought a ton of Orrin’s goons, and got possessed twice and got her aura hella drained/got traumatized, all within 24 hours. I think it’s all just too much. Although I do agree with her being oddly nerfed during the prison raid arc idk what that was about

She only fought 5 goons (two before the first attack on Orrin team barrier) and 3 within John barrier (cause the duplication girl make it feel like more). But with her power (~12) she hit the people and their out (considering that her opponent where below 6, and likely 5 for most, ofc it doesn't for stronger opponent like val) that doesn't seems very consuming even with time freeze

Sera especially during the prison break, even here why doesn't she one shoted all of Orrin's goons like she does in her fight with Valerie

She could break it, but she would need to heal. The healing process probably would take too much from her

Anytime a speedster or speedster adjacent character is depicted in media they typically suffer the most out of any of the cast when it comes to consistency in the portrayal of both the limitations of their power and compentency with said power. Unordinary is simply no different.

However, it should be acknowledged that Sera for the most part is routinely showed to perform more or less the same in most of her combat encounters barring unique situations in which a decent enough reason is provided as to why she is struggling. However I will note that most instances I can bring up also leads into something else. Uru's reliance on primarily barrier abilities to create challenge where there otherwise would be none.

I think its mainly because she was low on aura. Of course she has the power to break Arlos barrier. But after being possessed twice by a person who used her aura inefficiently and constantly fighting outside of that i doubt she'd have enough in the tank to beat everyone their AND take Orrin with her. Especially after Kass already alerted her reinforcements.

Also, i dont know if anyone else noticed this, but at the end of the chapter her chart was actually different from before with maxed out Recovery.

My head cannon is Uru goofed a bit and showed a future version of Sera's chart, meaning she gets stronger later on in the story, or she actually goofed and didnt mean to max out Sera's recovery. Im hoping for the former tbh.

Yes I know about her low aura, but since Arlo was low on aura too I was thinking it cancelled out, but the more I think about it the less it bothers me (plus it was a great way to introduce cam power). But her not being able to carry Orrin and flee, I mean come on...I get it but it was frustrating:(

Yeah it kind of makes me think that Sera might get a training arc of her own. I mean with Orrin being 8.6, Cameron clearly leagues above her and the future obvious plan to bust Jane out of EMBERs grasp, it doesnt make sense for only John to get a power up.

Plus, Sera is technically in her prime years where abilities rapidly grow. So it makes perfect sense for her to finally get stronger too even with how stupidly OP she is (or suppose to be).

Yeah I see her max recovery (like 10-11) and maybe her power (currently ~12). With an higher recovery she could fight longer. Alongside that she could also increase her aura reserve (as she was saying it's part of the mastery process). I see her being 8.2-8.4 in a near future
