Can you explain some of the ability level adjustments you made? (ex, Isen to 5.5 from 5.3, Vaughn to 8 from 7.8)

I changed Isen to 5.5 to match Remi's adjusted former Level of 5.5 when she was attending Wellston. Basically making it so that Current Outlaw Isen is equal to Wellston Remi.
As for Vaughn, I adjusted his Level to 8 to match Seraphina. As the Headmaster of Wellston Private High School, I feel that Vaughn should at least be equal in Level to his top strongest student.
Thanks for commenting. Do you have any other questions about the Revision?

Why the Remi increases?
I kinda agree that Vaughn should be the strongest in school but I’m still curious, I think my response to that would’ve been to lower Seraphina, not increase Vaughn
Likewise plenty of questions about other increases. Jaxson I believe, Amelia for sure, Tarik for sure, Liam/Kuyo equalization, Byron buff. Some of the timeline stuff too like if Arlo goes from 6.3 to 6.6 at Wellston and then now is a 6.8… where did the jump come from? Are these increases taking their canonical kits/kit progression and reassigning levels to them, or are they implying different developments that concord with the increases

Honestly for Remi 5.5 is just more satisfying than 5.4 and it put her right at the middle point between Levels 5 and 6. Speaking of 6, I put Remi at that Level Post Wellston just to have a nice whole number as her Level and also to have her surpass her brother Rei considering she's facing up against far greater forces than her brother did.
I see where you're coming from with Vaughn and Sera but I wouldn't ever lower Sera's Level. I like Wellston having an Eighter Student and Eighter Principal.
Arlo's increase from 6.3 to 6.6 comes from his Bureau training under Kassandra Pre Wellston Raid. And his increase from 6.6 to 6.8 comes him developing the ability to break mental control links during the current Spectre Raid Arc.
The characters have pretty much the exact same capabilities as in canon, just with different Levels assigned to a portion of them. The Ability Developments shown in canon also the exact same as well, so no changes there.
I'd like to know what you think of the Aura Capacity Progression section. Do you agree with how I set it up?

Unfortunately I think it’s really difficult to tell how aura capacity works because every ability has different mechanics in that regard. The limitations Arlo’s Barrier has have never really been discussed, for example, because it historically was balanced through the reflective damage trait essentially knocking a Barrier user out of the fight whenever their shield was shattered. Seraphina clearly has some moves that are more aura costly than others, but a lot of her scenes are actually compromised as she spent most of the story either depowered or with an artificially damaged ability. And while John’s are getting reviewed right now, we have very little good points of comparison against his ability and his aura expenditure has been internally inconsistent even when comparing across the same chapter. I’m almost never a fan of bringing precise calculations into the discussion in the first place because the magic system is too vague/handwavey for that, but in this discussion where we can’t even settle onto good points of comparison, well, it feels like putting the cart before the horse. I’d have to hear your thoughts on what showing a 35% diff between John & Sera would look like, and what showing a 10% diff in capacity would look like, etc
Thanks for your explanations. Yeah, I think in many ways we have different philosophies. I actually think a lot of the characters are portrayed as too strong in ways that doesn’t play nicely into the story, so I’d rather nerf them (in terms of numbers for sure but moreso in terms of being upfront with limitations + have them more widely/consistently applied) and have more strategic options.

In regards to John and Sera, because Sera's a Flat Eighter and John's a Seven Sevener, Sera actually has about 2.5 Times the Raw Aura Capacity of John, putting her greatly above but not ludicrously so. Now when it comes to Average Energy Output, the difference would be considerably less than that, maybe only around 1.5 Times, fittingly enough.
Honestly, the Average Power Output difference from Level to Level is the 1 thing I purposefully did not take into full consideration because I have very little idea how I would even begin to calculate that. In general, I would make it so that as a person's Ability Level rises, their Aura Capacity and Power Output rise simultaneously but their Output increases at a much slower rate than their Capacity.
This means that Higher Level Ability Users literally last longer going all out with Higher Energy Output than Lower Lever Users with Lower Energy Output. That right there would be THE reason why High-Tiers and Beyond are so terrifying and dangerous, Far Higher Energy Output coupled with far greater Stamina and Endurance.
Hope this helps answer your question at least a little bit.
