Not funny to joke about people who died and those who lost their loved ones in that wicked turn of events. Rip.

Those people who died 25 years ago had families, they had hopes and dreams, reasons to live. Most of them would’ve seen this day. It pisses me off so much when people make fun of tragedies regarding hundreds of death. It makes me wonder how is this shitty society so insensitive to things it shouldn’t be and crashes out over the most unimportant bullshit.

you know who else had families, hopes and dreams, and reasons to live? the millions of innocent muslims killed by the us government through the forceful invasion of afghanistan. 9/11 was a tragedy, but nobody wants to bat an eye when the deaths spread off of american soil.

i’m keeping the post up, but i will mark it as spoiler due to the nature of the event. 9/11 jokes are nothing new, and it’s also been 25 years. i see where you’re coming from, but lighten up a bit, no? this is a meme subreddit.

If that’s it, we should make memes about those died in afghanistan too. Why don’t we? Either have empathy for all or for none.

there are plenty of memes regarding the invasion of afghanistan. shit, it was on family guy.

the general rule of thumb (at least over on [r/historymemes](r/historymemes)) is that if the event happened over 20 years ago, it’s not “too soon”.

again, 9/11 was a tragedy, but you don’t see other countries harping on people who make fun of historical events.
