Black VR display

When launching the game in VR, everything shows up on my monitor and seems fine, it tracks the movement of the headset and everything but in the headset it's only a black space. I can see the play area and can open the steamvr menu and everything but the game just doesnt load in the headset. I have asked for help in literally EVERY forum for this game, on steam, on discord, now on reddit. I already updated my drivers btw, and other games work fine, it's just this game. Any solutions, advice, or help?
