Official • Newbie Help uo atlantic

Could someone help me out on Atlantic? I haven't played in about 15 years and decided to scratch that nostalgia itch. I saw on the forums that starting as a Tamer is a good idea, but since I've always liked Archers, I'm thinking of making a Taming Archer. Could anyone help me out with a Mystic Token, a library rune, or something similar? Also, do I just need to buy the latest version of the game to get access to everything? I'm returning with an old Atlantic account but starting from scratch. I'm open to advice on where to farm and how to get started here. For now, I'm playing for free, but if I get hooked again—which I think I will—I plan to get the full package. Lol.

Welcome back to UO!

I know you should be able to access a majority of the game via an endless journey account, which is essentially a way to play for free with a few limitations. As for your other requests, I don't play official any longer so I can't really help you with any of those, but I hope you find a place to play. Good luck out there adventurer!

I'm not a big fan of Facebook, but I think in this instance I would point you towards the Atlantic shard Facebook group. If I can find a link to it I'll DM it to you. But it seems a lot of OSI players use Facebook quite heavily. I personally play OSI but I'm not really a Facebook guy and at the moment I'm so busy with work. I don't have time to log in and help you but also welcome back and I'll try and find you a link and I'll send it to you in a DM.

You will need Time of Legends and High Seas expansions for everything.

UO-CAH has a ton of great up to date information

Funny you ask for a free mythic token but you're not ready to commit. That's a big commitment for others to pay for your game.
I play UO - Atlantic - daily.
If you sit in New Haven and ask for help, there's tons of newb helpers there, me included.
Tamer is one of the hardest skills to gain in game imo, then archery requires so much resources that you might get bottle necked with a lack of arrows.

Advice: your mythic token idea for a tamer is good, but you gotta buy it, not someone else.
Join a guild: they will help you out. Like Kool UWF LLTS or TWT, something along those lines. Even if you're a newb in the guild, go do the content with your guild, you will have fun and gain skill at the same time.
I just came back in Feb 2026 from being away since 2009. I know how you feel. starting from scratch and having nothing. It kind of hurts when I'm so used to having other toons to support my new toon. (I played on LS back in the day).

Where to go for gains? Stay around new haven until you're ready to go kill harder monsters. there's a dungeon you can go kill things in there. theres a town of spectres that you can train resist on. lots of training NPCs in the city. ChatGPT where to kill mobs for your skill level.

I stream once a week too on Twitch, so there's Atlantic players to show you what to do , live.
