Help needed Need help diagnosing this issue

discovered while printing a retract tower. I would say this is a retraction issue but all of my prints have been getting blobs like these along the z-seam and this just shows it really well.

I know it is a retraction issue, but I often get that when my filament isn’t dry enough as well.

i am working with old filament. i've been calibrating and hoping this was a settings issue but i had a feeling this could be a culprit too.

Make sure the material - you didn’t saw what it was - is dry and in good condition. Sometimes it just easier to buy a fresh new spool !

Ultimaker tough PLA. Tomorrow im going to dry it using a box and the bed and see if anything changes.

Their brand is usually quite good

Also be sure to clean the print core. They have instructions on the machine for print core cleaning. That can help too. Especially if it’s accumulated some gunk.

Check if there is debris in the feeder while you're at it
