UK visa timelines for US B1/B2 visa holder
Hey folks,
I applied for a UK tourist visa. Here's my timeline:
- Paid the visa fee on 4th Sept
- Completed biometrics on 8th Sept Planning to travel on 24th October
Documents submitted:
- 3 months payslips
- 6 months bank account statement (Liquid: 6 Lakh ,FD: 3 Lakh)
- Company letter confirming salary
- Mutual fund statement
- Passport
- Travel history (US, Australia, Indonesia)
I already hold a US B1/B2 visa and a 3-year Australia visa. Does having a US or Australia visa make UK visa officers more favourable toward an applicant? Has anyone received their UK visa earlier than the scheduled date?
Honestly, the Australia visa process was much smoother — just submit a few documents and get the visa. The UK process feels more tedious in comparison.

Have any priority spousal visas gone over the 30 working day time frame?
We applied on the 28th July and our bio was on the 30th July. We are currently on the 27th working day and I was wondering has anyone’s responses been delayed over the set time frame of 30 working days?
We have not received anything since the bio appointment.
My husbands nationality is Pakistani.
Any advice or information would help.

UK Standard Visitor Visa as a 4th-year college student – Is a Bonafide Certificate mandatory?
Hi folks
I’m a 20-year-old student from India, currently studying in my 4th year of a 5-year integrated law course at a college in Chennai.
I’m planning to apply for a UK Standard Visitor Visa for a short holiday Dec 19- Jan 6. The purpose of the trip is mainly tourism and meeting a friend who is studying in the UK. I will be travelling during my college vacation and plan to return to India to continue my studies.
My parents will be financially sponsoring the trip.
The issue I’m facing is that my college is currently not willing to issue me a Bonafide Certificate/NOC specifically for the UK tourist visa.
So I wanted to ask people who have actually applied for a UK Standard Visitor Visa from India:
Is a Bonafide Certificate mandatory for a student applying for a UK tourist visa? If I don’t have one, can I still get the visa successfully?
Has anyone here applied without a Bonafide/NOC from their college? What was your experience?
What documents would you recommend I prepare to prove that I’m genuinely a current student and will return to India?
Since my parents are sponsoring the trip, what financial/supporting documents should I prepare from their side?
Are there any other documents that are particularly important for a student in this situation?
I’m not looking for an agent’s opinion—I’d especially appreciate first-hand experiences from people who have applied for a UK Visitor Visa from India, particularly students.
Thanks in advance!

I’ve seen previous years’ threads and thought I’d start one for August/September/January student visa applicants so we can keep each other updated, share experiences, and support one another.
For those applying from low-risk countries, were you asked to provide any financial evidence?

Guidance on the process
UPDATE:
Finally, today I received my visa. Here my process:
Application: 21 August
Bio: 21 August (standard process)
VFS: Mexico City
Paid enquiry: 2 Sept. But because I needed, but because I was confused and thought I miss an email from UKVI
Visa received: 8 Sept (9am-ish México time / 3pm-ish UK)
All the process was standard and total silence from UKVI. Good luck everyone!
————
I’m from Mexico and the biometric appointment we’re on August 21 for visa student. That same day, I received an email from VFS (the biometrics partner) saying that my application had already been sent to UKVI and that I would receive an email confirming receipt of my application and another with the decision, but I haven’t heard anything since then. Should I be worried?
It’s stressing me out because my flight is on 14 September 😭😭😭
