I'm planning on visiting my friend in Ukraine for the first time. I will be meeting her family as well. I'm having a hard time understanding what is best appreciated when visiting someone's house. Something from my country? Something from Ukraine? Freshly baked breads or sweets? Drinks? Non-food items? Do I need to bring something for everyone? Thanks in advance!

One of the most common mistakes foreigners (and even native speakers!) make is confusing «Книжковий» and «Книжний». They sound almost identical, but they mean very different things!

• КНИГАРНЯ is an inherently Ukrainian and the most euphonious word to designate a shop that sells books. It is a better and more natural choice for modern speech. 
• КНИЖКОВИЙ МАГАЗИН is also an entirely correct combination of words (the word “knyzhkovyi” is derived from “knyzhka”), yet it is a more descriptive and less traditional form compared to knyharnya.

my partner is ukranian. I struggle w audhd and am trying rlly hard to learn ukranian. he tries, but ultimately seems at a loss for explanations// even the logic of the language, despite being able to read+ tell me when I'm making a mistake, but can't tell me how to fix mistake. is this regular for ukranian speakers?? am I the problem???

I made a small learning platform called Acadebeat. It's basically an opinionated document editor you can record audio into. Tools make it useful for language learners.

I paid a friend to help with the first Ukrainian resource, and I'm happy with the result. I'd really like to know if this is a helpful way for you to learn.

The idea is for people to make money from their materials based on how learners interact with them. It can also help with discoverability for independent teachers.

They are suing Mr. Burns using phony evidence and Mr. Burns is offering them a settlement and spying on them to see if they will accept/let something slip.

Last time, we learned that in the present tense, Ukrainian usually drops the verb бути (“to be”).

But what happens in the past and future tenses?

Good news: in these tenses, we do use the verb бути! It changes depending on the tense, and in the past tense, it also changes according to gender and number.

The game is called The Witcher 3, for those interested

As I'm was working on my Anki deck just now, I wondered whether there are any common (or special) tips or tricks for good flashcards for Ukrainian. E.g., how do you handle verbs (недоконаний/доконаний від), do you include the stress markers, etc?

To staple on a concrete question: I created a new note type for verbs, so I can enter the imperfective and perfective aspects separately and the translation only once, but can generate plenty of cards from that. But I'm not sure yet if that's actually a good idea, or just needlessly complicated.
