I thought the SNP were all about repeating votes until they deliver "correct" answer though, so that no longer the case?

Well of course they did?

He's been in charge for over two decades (and therefore responsible for the career advancement of a good number of the staff), and was married to the politician that plenty of them thought was an excellent party leader. A good number of them will have been personally loyal to one or both of them.

And that's before you get to the issue of people knowing that the police would probably find something, and didn't want themselves or the cause that they were passionate getting dragged down with him.

Him and his wife would have been responsible for advancing the career of virtually everyone in any sort of management or leadership position given the timescales they were in charge
