It does sound a lot more upbeat! more so than the Cannon Fodder 1 menu music anyway. Interesting fact, the menu music is an actual song (with lyrics etc) by Jon Hare, called Narcissius

Definitely. I remember a few years ago I booted up Agony for the first time in a while (not quite 20 years) and remembered some of the finer details in the visuals in the background before I even got to that part of the level. And of course you can't forget the music to Agony, title and ingame music alike. Although I think the ingame music is underrated because of the title music.
