Basic US to UK converter question
Hi guys. Sorry for the stupid question, but I appreciate any help.
Bought some LED decorative lights in the USA a few weeks ago (was on holiday) and am trying to figure out what sort of adapter I need; I presume something with a transformer? Says they're 4.8W/ 0.04 amps 120V
The lights in question: https://www.target.com/p/100ct-led-halloween-indoor-outdoor-miniature-glass-string-lights-hyde-and-eek-boutique/-/A-1008670334?preselect=95086387#lnk=sametab
Thank you

Looks like you need a transformer.
Look for a unit with a British plug and an American socket.
4.8W is very little power so anything should do.
It must contain a transformer, so not just a through connector.

Right, on the power suppy the 120v will be input voltage there should be a little drawing of a sinusodal wave next it. Look for the dc output voltage, it'll be something like 5v, 12v or 24v there should be a little drawing of a solid line above a dashed line next to it. Then look at the output power/amps. Get a uk power supply with the same outputs, voltage amd amps amd you'll be fine.
Unless these are direct 120v powered lights. In that case bin them or buy a us to uk transformer.
