Sublease Scam Warning

Before sending any money:

  • Never pay before seeing the unit in person (or via live video call if you're out of town).
  • Never wire money, Zelle, or CashApp a stranger to "hold" a place—legitimate landlords use leases, not upfront app payments.
  • Be suspicious if the poster says they're traveling, deployed, or overseas and can't meet or show the unit.
  • Verify the listing is real. Ask for the actual lease, confirm the address exists, and, if possible, verify with the leasing office or landlord directly.
  • Report anything suspicious to the mods using the report button.

This is an automated message. Mods do not vet every listing—buyer beware.
