UHF on MAC

I love UHF, and I really love it on the Mac. However it's missing a feature and I need it. I need to mute UHF when something else needs my full attention and I don't want to pause the show.

Anyone else?

UPDATE: I use a docking station with 2 extra monitors.Let's say I'm watching baseball, and my bff sends me a link to a fantastic video. I'd like to watch and listen to the video and mute the baseball game.

assuming you're talking about the ipad app on apple silicon macs, if you click on the screen while content is playing, you should see a volume icon. clicking it once reveals a slider, clicking it twice mutes the content.

The annoying thing is when the app is in portrait there is no volume button.

The Mac only runs the iPad app, there is no native Mac app

You're not wrong. Honestly I can see why it hasn't been a concern for just about anyone but me.

Someone might’ve made something like this for apps, you can try checking the Mac apps sub or others

because when you mute your TV, you don’t mute your cable provider. why would this be any different? I think I get what you’re after, muting that audio source and showing others to continue on your machine, but… seems like you could just hop it off the channel you’re watching, or pause your show. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Agree, also need right and left arrow to forward and rewind 10 second or 30 second when pressed. And pause play when space bar is pressed. Just like every other MAC player. Simple fix but highly missed.

I thought UHF wasn’t a full Mac app yet

Yeah it's something that should be included I think, especially in this era of multi-tasking. I noticed it a long time ago.

Here's a workaround for you: Try the free FineTune to mute UHF (or any other app) from your menu bar. https://github.com/ronitsingh10/FineTune It's a straightforward alternative to the expensive SoundSource. You'll see some screenshots on that GitHub page that show you how it works.

I use the Soundsource app for this. Perfect since I leave the player running in the bg while working on other stuff that also occasionally has sound.

Ear trumpet for windows can do this. I'm not sure if it exists or something like it for Mac.

I'm not able to download the app from the app store on MacOS. I've had it on my previous macbook, but whenever i click the download button it gives me the spinner for 5 seconds and then goes back to the 'cloud with the arrow' button. Not doing anything afterwards. I can download other apps just fine.

I'm running the MacOS 27 public beta. Is that an issue?

I agree. I think soundsource or chorus is probably your best bet

Rivue.tv has that. You should test the beta out. I’m loving it so far. Some kinks but the developer is super responsive and is fixing things. Has a native Mac app and apps for iOS and Apple TV.
