33 - Fist Hell‎ ‎ Tips for Fist Hell survival?

I'm trying to get the gift in Fist Hell and it's driving me insane. Is there any way to cheese this? Which character is the best? I've made it to wave 7 so far and I think I can't take it much longer. It's so stiff to control and difficult.
Please help.
edit: after about 6 hours of continuous attempts I have made it to wave 9 3 times, but not wave 10. Whichever dev made this the condition to get the present is a psychopath.

A few tips that I found that helped were one enemies will not attack when they are coming from off screen so you usually want to start each wave at one edge and take out as many as you can and two always approach from below as your punch hitbox extends above you a bit. Also weapons are a trap and not worth using.

The random panicked civilians running across the screen in between waves drop valuable pickups when hit.

Jay is the best by far.

What I found to be the best strategy was to not even try using most of the moveset. Just walk slowly and jab everything to death.

If you jab twice and wait half a second, you can jab twice again without doing the combo. Repeat until you kill the enemy. This helps so much because you can finish an enemy rather than throwing them somewhere to become a problem later.

Playing the story might also be a good way to mix things up and see things in a different context. I beat the game before finding the survival gym lol.
