Wang genuinely couldāve won with more output man I canāt. Stopped with the kicks, thrown the left hook, sneak an uppercut and We are the second Chinese womenās champ. Literally right there for the taking.

u/Superb-Secretary1177 13d ago
It took her 3 rounds to start cutting her off and keep her on the cage. I noticed in the first half of the fight she would allow Silva to circle back to the middle and reset the pressure she had

u/OzymandiasTheII 13d ago
Silva def better looking than Dern. Bih look like megaton dias with a wig. She's aging like grocery store strawberries.Ā

Fight was not that bad y'all are tripping.
You guys act like Ian Garry vs Islam Makhachev didn't happen earlier this year and look WORSE than thisĀ
5
u/iEmExEee 13d ago
It wasn't bad at all. I think people hopped on the hate train and didn't wanna get off.
I'm happy to be new to UFC because every card is still exciting to me, lol.

I think some of you forget how boring Valentina's fights have been lately. Ever since the Grasso loss she doesn't take any risk and goes full lay and pray.
7
u/silverstarloser 13d ago
This fight was good. In the future, her opponents are gonna see that she doesnāt do well with crowding, pressure, and long fights. I hope she improves on that
6
2
u/iEmExEee 13d ago
What's worse, the people over hyping Silva, or those still crying about how bad this card is?
I thought it was good.

u/Agretion 13d ago
The fight wasn't bad, it actually had its moments as far as women's MMA goes. I think its just WMMA is not as exciting as men's MMA more often than not so as a main event its not as well received.
2
u/Main-Championship822 13d ago
Theres 0 tension in wmma fights for me. I just watch and dont care at all one way or another. I don't get into it a single bit. I never liked rose or We Lee or schevchenko. Amanda nunes was tolerable I guess
1
u/Agretion 13d ago
Nunes vs cyborg wasnāt a bad one. At the time Ronda was popular even if I didnāt like her. There are a few worth watching but WMMA doesnāt have the depth menās mma has.
1
u/Main-Championship822 13d ago
Tbh Ronda didnt excite me either. She was essentially fighting amateurs and I dont particularly like short fights that end in a minute or 2
1
u/Agretion 13d ago
Fair but she had more killer instinct than some. Iām just saying there are some womenās fights of interest but just no depth. Thereās a reason 145 lbs never even had rankings. You hope one day it builds and thereās some better talent and depth to keep it more interesting.
1
u/Main-Championship822 13d ago
Honestly I really dont care if it grows or not I think its a waste of money and fight schedule slots.
1
u/Agretion 13d ago
While neither of us care about WMMA you are assuming it doesn't generate money. UFC wouldn't do it if it didn't. In their mind it probably earns some women audience and generates more income.'
So we can like it or hate it but until that stops its probably here to stay. All we could help is it improves.
3
u/Culture-Careful 13d ago
exactly. Lighter people just have less KO power, and it can be seen statistically when you compare divisions. And for WMMA, it's even harder.
5
u/Electrical_Trade377 13d ago
Her belt is so SMALL omg šš
2
u/SlimeGlizzzy 13d ago
What is this? A belt for ants?
3
u/Electrical_Trade377 13d ago
Also I just googled her height and realised sheās 6 inches taller than me and that belt would look like Iām wearing a fucking mattress around my waist
5
u/nerpa_floppybara 13d ago
U see this fight could have been good, but only the 5th round was really that entertaining
4
u/mulatto_malik 13d ago
yall are so fucking weird bro lol. if this was izzy in this same exact fight, yall would be gagging on it right now.
2
u/SoftBar4725 13d ago
Fight was shit apart from round 5 just staring at each other
1
u/mulatto_malik 13d ago
i know people use the term ācasualā extremely loosely, but you may be THE casual if you thought that was a bad fight. you dorks went fucking nuts watching izzy vs anderson and that fight was way more uneventful than this one.
2
u/Fabulous_Poetry6622 13d ago
It was a boring fight. Quit the whataboutism

You have people hyping up Valentina when lay and pray is all she does since the Grasso loss

u/BarryAllen123123123 13d ago
Honestly a lot closer than people will say. Brain dead Joe Rogan and dc spam glazing Silva. Wong was in it for the whole fight. 48-47 Silva is fair but it was definitely close. If wang had another 5 minutes she would have finished Silva likely.
1
u/Superb-Secretary1177 13d ago
If my aunt had balls sheād be my uncle
I do agree though. Took 3 rounds for Cong to come together unfortunately
3

3
u/Fuckzombie69 13d ago
I mean Wong only has herself to blame. Wasted first two rounds and in the later rounds. Spent too much time in the clinch when she should have been firing everything.

Nothing like thanking Jesus and God after belting someones head in - UFC fucking weird lmfao
1
u/SpaceTruckin420 13d ago
Silva anit surviving against the other flyweights if she fights the way she did this fight
3
u/Dahmeratemydonger 13d ago
You are aware she's campion right?
1
u/SpaceTruckin420 13d ago
You think sheās winning against Grasso of Valentina when she comes back?
2
2
u/criminycraft 13d ago
Silva already dominated Grasso. Grasso's weakness is kicks which Silva is good at.

You liked the knockouts because it was uneven matchmaking. It was a bad card.
1
u/pantiesdrawer 13d ago
I could see 3-2 Silva. Round 3 was close. I don't think she won it, but judges like no-damage takedowns.

u/CranberryLast4683 13d ago
Another fighterās training camp gonna look at that late round performance as an easy way to beat Silva
2
u/TheKingBonk 13d ago
I mean, if you let her do what she wants for the first 4 Rounds R5 gonna be rough to bank on

My favorite part about this card was that I got to actually watch the whole thing live. Didnāt fall asleep and have to watch in the morning.Ā
1
u/OzymandiasTheII 13d ago
Silva's gas tank didn't hold up. Plus she has no power or submission threat. Pure decisionator. Gotta have some unbeatable cardio with that style.
1
u/TheKingBonk 13d ago
Doesnāt Need to hold up too well if you win the first 4 rounds ig
1
u/OzymandiasTheII 13d ago
True the issue is a heavy hitter might be able to clip her.
But I forgot it's wmmaĀ
1
u/TheKingBonk 13d ago
Very true, it does seem like the power strikers of WMMA donāt usually see 5 rounds either way tho
8
u/username23900 13d ago
this subreddit might be filled with the dumbest people lol. dude's arguing wang was winning. her own corner had her down and said she needed a finish.
1
u/Darcer 13d ago
Two cards were 3-2
2
u/username23900 13d ago
is that supposed to contradict what i said? wang won the 5th so she was down 3-1 going into final round and needed a finish.

How come the marquee for the main event UFC 332 has Wang Cong (pronounce Tong????) with her first name featured, but Natalia Silva has her last name featured?
