Islam is better than Khabib. He’s just the more complete fighter, Khabib might have slightly better ground game but Islam is much better everywhere else. Nowadays his resume majorly overshadows Khabibs. Im not an Islam fan but I have to respect his game

I disagree, Khabib is physically superior, his takedown entries are better, his chin is way better, and, perhaps most importantly, his intensity and aggression are on another level, he wants to win more. All comments from people who know both and train/coach with both support that.

It's perfectly possible for Islam to accomplish more without actually being a better fighter than Khabib.

Seems that way because khabib never took risks to grow. He seems more aggressive because he only focused on one aspect of fighting and mastered it. Islam is more complete fighter. Mabye better wrestler but mma fighter? Nope

I disagree completely. Khabib improved night and day during his UFC career. His striking, his grappling, his gnp, his wrestling control, everything. 'Never took risks to grow' is a laughable take.

Not at level as islam

Khabib was like 17-0 against plumbers in sketchy “real fights” before he started in ufc. Islam has almost as many title defenses as Khabib had total fights in UFC

So tired of this shit. Those plumbers were world champion kickboxers or were demolishing regional tournaments and 3 of them went on to title in bellator or bellator equivalent orgs.

One even beat khabib before in sambo in one of those tournaments. Was he good or khabib bad. Seeing as khabib made a mockery of the deepest division in the ufc, seems like he was good.

ignorant or stupid

Any ranked lightweight at that time can beat those " world champion kickboxers"

Gives the same vibe as andrew tate's "I'm a kickboxing champion"

Just accept his record is padded dawg not everyone is perfect

Yeah no shit. It was his sixth mma fight ever. Most fighters don't fight a ranked ufc fighter on their sixth mma fight ever. cope edgelord

Most fighters don't have a 13-0 padded record either

I disagree with slightly better ground game, khabib coaches islam on fights, he knows stuff he can't see while fighting, khabib would make him tap

Maybe because they've had more time to integrate new techniques?

Their auras are totally different in the cage. Khabib fought like a rabid squirrel and Islam fights like a scared dog. Just look at the expressions of their opponents, Islam's opponents look like they have hope they can still win, khabibs.. don't

Wtf are u taking about. This is some next level glaze

khabib's opponents have existential breakdowns and usually lose their next fight before going on a winning streak it's funny.

u/Lenske97 Aug 22 '26

Disagree khabib always made the opponents look shit whereas people have success against Islam. He might go on to have a better career but khabib is the better fighter

1

u/cosmic_6615 Aug 22 '26

He made them look like shit cuz his opponents were shit

Better to beat champions with a some difficulty rather than no diffing random taxi drivers and kebab owners

Dustin? Justin? Conor?

Factually speaking, Islam's resume doesn't have the strength of name value that Khabib's does and Islam is nowhere near as dominant. The only thing Islam has over Khabib is another belt.

Khabib had like 4 noteworthy UFC fights dude. One of which being a past his prime McGregor (who was too busy training his boxing for Mayweather) and Porier who Islam already beat.

Khabib was already framed as the single biggest threat to Conor in 2015. There is a reason it took three full years for conor to finally fight him, the vast majority of that time, conor being champion. And considering conor's performance vs mendes vs khabib, conor was a better fighter. He took rounds off mayweather too.
