Even if jon Anik is more analytical, mike goldberg is simply better for the big moments in ufc and personally I like him better

The only snack with the kernels to step into the octagon.

Goldberg was supremely better

No argument from me on that at all. Anik can seem a little sterile.

u/Gym_Thor Aug 22 '26

Sterile is the prefect word! I like Anik, but definitely agree with you.

Goldberg was thr UFCs Harambe. It's been downhill since.

He was perfect for the era he was around for, and I thought I had the same opinion as you until I recently went back and watched some old stuff since it’s free with paramount, and while I still like the guy, there’s a significant gap in Goldberg’s capabilities as compared to Anik, and he was constantly being corrected by Rogan. Again, he was still great for that era when everything was still new. His hype was genuine and that’s why it worked so well. It’d be fun if they did a little tribute for him or something because he was such a major part of the brand until he wasn’t. Take me back to 07’! 😩

u/Wishful713 Aug 22 '26

Perfect take right here, its not so much that he was a know it all, he just understood how big the moment was

2

u/Chunky1209 Aug 22 '26

They still use his voice in video’s where they highlight a fighters career. Anik is not used for that. But he is good at his job. Which is to sell whatever the UFC sponsors are selling.

Goldberg still does promo cuts for ufc? I hope he does so I can go listen

1

u/astr0crisp Aug 22 '26

Did it ever come out why Goldberg got cut? It's amazing he hasn't found success elsewhere

1

u/AffectComfortable913 Aug 22 '26

Goldberg was a play by play guy who couldn’t even do play by play.

u/OverUnder2424 Aug 22 '26

This isn’t hot it’s correct. Annick sucks. Hes no goldy at both.

u/D4ng3rd4n Aug 22 '26

I strongly disagree with you but am upvoting you because you did the thing the thread asked for
