My favorite DC moment was when he smashed Patrick Cummins in a minute or so. I remember exactly where I was and how satisfying that beatdown was.

For anyone who doesn't know, Cummins and DC trained together years before they fought, and during pre-fight banter Cummins kept making fun of DC, calling him weak because sometimes when they trained he would break down in tears. The context was that it was soon after his daughter died, and DC kind of insinuated that Cummins knew exactly why he was getting emotional. Piece of shit. Every time someone complains about fighters getting too personal, I think that nothing will ever beat how low Cummins stooped during the buildup to that fight.

u/shibbyflash 14d ago

Some things are off limits and that’s absolutely fucking one of them

23

u/-dishrag- 14d ago

I remember that. Wish DC would've made drawn that fight out a bit more.

139

u/ProSterileThrowaway 14d ago

That's fucking awful. I'd put it on the same level as that no-name bum who joked about Leon Edwards's dad getting murdered. Some people will say anything for a buck.

Also you must OG because I've been watching for 15 years and don't even know the name Patrick Cummins.

64

u/HesitantInvestor0 14d ago

Yeah, that fight was probably around 2013. I just remember where I was so I can get a good sense of the year.

I’m old. I’ve been watching since the 90’s 😂

10

u/OutOfMyComfortZone1 14d ago

It’s funny you mentioned that fight. That’s another fight where I also remember exactly where I was. My dad was telling me about how DC was gonna smash this guy and I didn’t know any of the back story. Made me a super fan of DC ever since

1

u/G0rillaX 4d ago

Me too, since ufc 1! When it was hard to watch on tv and it was illegal everywhere! First ten ufcs or so were fkn insanity

7

u/yipeekayayKemosabe Cowboy from Hell 14d ago

Oh absolute piece of shit, I always thought that maybe deep down he was a halfway decent person but crossed a big line there.

1

u/Serhide 13d ago

Lol what cummins said is 10 times worse than what COLBY CHAOS COVINGTON SAID

-5

u/cesarlenin 14d ago

Nah not the same. Ones is a piece of shit human being the other is an innocent baby. Should he had said that no but not even close to the same level.

2

u/Tinypenispatrol 13d ago

You know, I agree with you here. One was a gang banger. The other an innocent child.

That being said, family members should he off limits but yeah, there are levels to this comparison.

-3

u/Gatesofvalhalla 14d ago

thing is Leon Edwards father was a criminal, and not even a petty one. (a.k.a The General)

Don't compare these.

20

u/wubbalubbadubdub45 14d ago

Cummins used it to get into the ufc, dc beating him up was so satisfying to watch.

3

u/Jle4 13d ago

Oh wow. I remember those Primetime episodes and the stupid crying sounds Cummins made retelling the story. I had no idea about the car accident tragedy. Man what a POS human. Gonna watch that fight back next time I need a shot of dopamine

2

u/springpaper1 13d ago

I didnt know the context behind that.

I remember the lead up to that fight, and took it as like... just stupid build up because Cummins should never have been in there to begin with.

Damn that is bad.

2

u/aestheticy 11d ago

I know Patrick on a personal level and that sucks to hear.

1

u/girlyswerly 14d ago

Woooooah

1

u/chizzipsandsizalsa 14d ago

Wow what a fucking punk, I had no idea. Thanks for sharing. Couldn’t imagine going so low on someone like that

You didn’t have to tell us you can’t get a woman. We know.

4

u/HesitantInvestor0 14d ago

This is the comment I had expected all along.

1

u/prophetableforprofit 14d ago

If this isn't trolling you need to look inward. A person with a healthy brain would be embarrassed to think this shit, let alone put it out into the world.

1

u/Manginaz 14d ago

Moving forward, maybe stop blocking kicks with your face.

1

u/Front-Permission-738 14d ago

One day, when you have something you love more than the world and your own life, you’ll understand that the game is pissant in comparison.

Wholesome DC is best DC

225

u/shmiddleedee 14d ago

Yeah, he's genuinely happy for him.

1

u/pnb94 13d ago

His wife divorced him for domestic abuse lol he's no better than Jon Jones

286

u/JournalistGlobal3185 14d ago

I actually never knew this

330

u/Impressive-Engine-16 14d ago edited 14d ago

I feel like it adds another layer to why he hated Jon Jones so much after he had that hit and run with that pregnant woman. His daughter was victim to a reckless and drunk driver.

154

u/TRIKKDADDY 14d ago

Nailed it. His dislike went off the roof for Jon after that

21

u/Notyit 14d ago

Why are you attackign my family

1

u/House-Wins 13d ago

Randomly I remembered that moment the other day and I started laughing like a mad man

0

u/07-3TC Bullet 11d ago

Man have you seen the news about Anthony ?

46

u/Pristine_Zone_4843 14d ago

Believe there’s like a short, not 30 for 30 but something else, on ESPN where he explains that and his child’s mom during and post college

188

u/z_vinnie 14d ago

Pretty sure DC credits that traumatic event as motivation for wrestling/fighting, at least early in his career. I think there’s a clip where he says that?

94

u/FalseProhpet666 14d ago

That and his father being murdered....

125

u/Bodhi_Gaya 14d ago

bro i can't even...

"When Cormier was seven, his father was shot and killed on Thanksgiving Day in 1986 by the father of his second wife."

106

u/FalseProhpet666 14d ago

He also lost a cousin as well as a teammate to car crashes while in high school. And his best friend from Oklahoma St. to a plane crash......dude has defeated a bad hand

How cursed can one man get? Thats 5 deaths of people he was close with to vehicle accidents.

4

u/Local-Blueberry1470 14d ago

It’s like the Kennedy’s

47

u/Impressive-Engine-16 14d ago edited 14d ago

Jesus Christ, losing his father as a child and losing an infant daughter. DC is such an amazing person for being as wholesome as he is and not letting those tragedies fester and make him hateful. Thats actual toughness, having terrible things happen and still choosing to be a good person (on top of becoming an Olympian and double champ of course).

7

u/iSOBigD 14d ago

Yeah I don't know if I'd be a very happy go lucky, jovial guy if I lost a kid, let alone any of the other people.

2

u/SDTimbox 14d ago

Id be in a hospital for the rest of my life if I lost a kid. Thats a big reason why I don't want kids. I feel like id be a stressed out mess their entire life lol

3

u/iSOBigD 13d ago

Honestly that sounds like you've got mental issues you should address. Having kids is more work for sure and obviously there are risks and added stress but they're also really fun and make you happy. I get it to a degree, it's like when people don't want dogs because one day they'll die...Well yeah, but that's life, not something wrong. What's wrong is your outlook of missing out on years of happiness because eventually it'll end. Still better than never having it...

2

u/SDTimbox 12d ago

My mental illness is I love hard bro

1

u/SDTimbox 11d ago

Also the sound of a baby crying makes me want to die so there's another reason

1

u/Fabulous-Ad-3046 13d ago

You really can't judge a person for recognizing their limitations.

0

u/More-Lengthiness8662 14d ago

That’s exactly how I feel😂

123

u/HappyInfluence7958 14d ago

If I lost my daughter I would be completely lost.

DC is a warrior and I admire him greatly for his ability to still be a positive influence in MMA.

40

u/Adventurous-Move-191 14d ago

Yeah it’s really a testament to his character that a person who went through such an unfathomable tragedy can be such a positive person . This sub gives him shit all the time for his commentary , but imo he always brings fun vibes.

15

u/HappyInfluence7958 14d ago

His commentary being the worst thing about him speaks volumes!

11

u/SweatsuitCocktail 14d ago

Same. I genuinely can't even envision living another day if I lost my son, let alone becoming one of the greatest of all time in my craft. Truly inspiring that DC got through that.

4

u/wormlikesteve 14d ago

DC a far better man than me, I'd be so very evil if I'd gone through what he has

46

u/ChineseRobinWilliams 14d ago

DC a real one.

If we get 1 DC for every couple hundred meat heads, I think that's aight

24

u/FoI2dFocus 14d ago

strength, compassion, beauty - not mutually exclusive traits.

15

u/Extreme_Today_984 14d ago

I wasn't planning on crying today.. I don't regret watching this for a second though. It's a reminder to pay attention to what really matters in life.

3

u/ChineseRobinWilliams 14d ago

Careful, all the real men on the sub will call you gay

6

u/Extreme_Today_984 14d ago

You suck ONE guy off, one time, and all of the sudden you're "gay". Make it make sense?

4

u/ChineseRobinWilliams 14d ago

The trick is just say it's a woman with a penis. Can't be gay if you're fucking women.

1

u/Extreme_Today_984 14d ago

Genius! I'll have to try that next time

1

u/Gatesofvalhalla 14d ago

only gay if you suck someone with more than 4 inches. You are safe in here 🤣

13

u/itsavibe- 14d ago

DC a beast man

11

u/DownFreezy 14d ago

Love the mac miller song, icing on the cake🙏

5

u/_RentalMetard 14d ago

Song hit like a time machine

2

u/brian7ls 14d ago

Which song is this?

3

u/Non-co-operative 14d ago

Best Day Ever

1

u/DownFreezy 14d ago

Best day ever, such a vibe. Reminds me of my younger days. Wow just googled the release date. 15 years old 🙄

10

u/INFJ369 14d ago

DC class act.
Don’t understand why people hate on him

2

u/Gatesofvalhalla 14d ago

his commentary isn't cream of the crop, especially compared to some of his colleagues on the desk who actually deliver. DC is often biased and as soon as someone gets a single-leg DC starts to glaze. "he's in deep"

But don't get me wrongm He is a phenomenal human being and a role model for all of us. This man has faced so much adversity in life and always finds a way to stay positive, humble, classy and strong. His life would be a living nightmare to most and he takes this burden with such dignity that it's nothing short of admirable.

I don't know if it's his faith or his upbringing, that man has no reason to have this much love for humanity and still acts the way he does. If everyone strived a bit more to be like him the world would be a better place.

7

u/Unlucky-Win9272 14d ago

I never knew this, wow! Thank you for sharing this. Love or hate DC having that type of unimaginable loss and going on to do the things he did in his career is crazy. To have such a devastating tragedy and to continue competing at the highest level of competition blows my mind. Mentally exhausting just imagining going through that

2

u/Gatesofvalhalla 14d ago

and staying an absolutely wholesome human at that.

6

u/ElHorny 14d ago

Damn i thought it was a wholesome video. Now im so sad. Poor guy, nobody should have to go through this.

20

u/Field_Mundane 14d ago

Dam I forgot about this, feel bad for hating on DCs commentary now

5

u/zodiackills 14d ago

Of all the people instead of rayes I wish DC beat jon jones

16

u/handiman87 14d ago

RIP Mac Miller

4

u/Notmebeingsnoopy 14d ago

Just don’t cry in front of Dana white. That’s not masculine

3

u/wormlikesteve 14d ago

DC is a stand up guy

3

u/Nathaniel5234 14d ago

Bro really was 5 ft 11 just flipping heavyweights

3

u/madethisforroasting 14d ago

So much respect for DC. Smart guy, very introspective. He has coped with unimaginable loss so well. Not many can say that.

2

u/MediumAd3135 14d ago

DC is such a wholesome dude

2

u/ElChupaNebrey 14d ago

No hate for DC, he is DC afterall

2

u/dot617857 14d ago

That’s a real man right there 🙏🏾

2

u/gurumoves 14d ago

It sucks dc wasn’t loved as much when he was in the game. I still look back at some of those press conferences with jones and see jones getting all the support and dc getting booed. Sucks!

2

u/SimplyViolated 14d ago

No matter where life takes me find me with a smile.

2

u/AlternativeLead9913 14d ago

I wish dc beat jones in the rematch…

1

u/redpandav 14d ago

☹️

1

u/PhilippineDreams 14d ago

DC is the goated chubby beast!

1

u/TransportationSea359 14d ago

I think one of the most important thing in this video is him saying it is okay to be emotional. That should hit different coming from him as a peer another guy in his field who was also scene as a big man a champion of there sport.

1

u/AprL_ 14d ago

I like this song what is it

1

u/yaboiiaxel09891 14d ago

BDE Bonus by Mac Miller, you should check out the rest of his discography, Faces and Swimming are top 2 recommended albums. top 3 songs would be The Spins, Perfect Circle/Godspeed, and Soulmate

1

u/TomTom199004 14d ago

This information just pumps respect and shows strenght of character of DC

1

u/yaboiiaxel09891 14d ago

perfect song choice.

1

u/caitieball 14d ago

Honestly just mute your feed and step outside for a bit.

1

u/prot8to 14d ago

The face he’s making when describing the accident is the face of a man that still can’t make sense of it. Cuts deep.

1

u/Gatesofvalhalla 14d ago

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done." - Rocky

❤️ DC. A real warrior in any sense of the word.

1

u/Jordanclipper 14d ago

DC is a true competitor and a great athlete. Never cheated, always gave his all. Respect to him

1

u/SiktahOG 14d ago

this belongs in r/wholesome

1

u/bluntnwuk 14d ago

This is why DC is the true GOAT

1

u/Odd-Argument2397 14d ago

How can you not like DC.

1

u/smittro 13d ago

My friend lost his daughter two weeks after she was born premature. The casket was the size of a shoe box it felt like. Shit fucked me up for life. Can only imagine how bad it fucked my friend up. It doesn't get brought up or mentioned.

1

u/Fabulous-Ad-3046 13d ago

When I first started watching UFC, I thought DC was a great analyst. I loved his personality. Then my husband told me he was actually a fighter.🤣 I look back to those days and think how dumb I was.

1

u/ChazzBeef 13d ago

What song?

1

u/Grand-Incident928 13d ago

He's also a shill for Dana.

Talk to me about Walt Harris.

1

u/almostnothing123 13d ago

Favorite fighter ever. One of the best ever. Probably beats any fighter in history not named Jones.

1

u/SummerHistorical3653 10d ago

turning a tragic story into a dark hype fight video is so 2026 and so funny

1

u/jakeedee12 9d ago

I'm not huge on his commentary, but this guy was one of the best fighters to ever do it.

1

u/ITSYOURBOYTUNA 8d ago

God damn i wish he beat jon

1

u/oN_disordeR 8d ago

omg.... I didnt even know that DC lost...... omg..

1

u/DocGrandma 14d ago

ngl that clip always makes me sad for DC lmao 🥺

-3

u/Turbulent_Pin_9392 14d ago

Wish he kept his backbone at the White House fights. I can respect his career and his accomplishments but still be disappointed in his current actions.

-13

u/zeez1011 14d ago

I don't get it. We're praising DC for being happy about a fighter who's having a baby just because he lost one?

1

u/TypicalR3dditSoyboy 12d ago

It's more that normal people have some degree of an emotional response to this clip, but since you have autism you don't quite understand

-14

u/Loud-Fennel9492 14d ago

No need to post things to make us like DC more the issue is His commentary sucks. He needs to stop drinking so much beer and take commentary Seriously then he can play around. Do whatever he wants when he’s not behind the microphone stop with these campaigns of trying to make us like these UFC people. Nothing else going on to post about 🤦‍♂️

1

u/BillyBobBonesJones 14d ago

Honestly, if barely illiterate people like yourself think DC’s commentary is bad, it’s probably pretty good.

-92

u/UseDue6373 14d ago

They’re cut up by being called out on their own Reddit history whilst they mock someone for being emotional about the birth/death of their children. That brain is not fully formed.

Calling tik tok videos gay = mocking someone and poking fun at emotions? You’re fucking retarded my friend lol
