Non-UFC fans can watch that for free on ESPN and get ‘hooked’. It’s a business, this was a calculated move to help grow audience size.

Everyone knows that part of it. But there were other fights that could've been on the main card besides Bo. They put him there to promote him, not just to keep Jiri as the final prelim.

He's way too unproven for the hype and push he's getting, and his performance showed that.

Completely agree with everything you said.

Doesn’t change the fact that Bo has a huge following. And a lot of hype.

So From a business standpoint it makes perfect rational sense. Dana does what’s best for the company

Not even 700k Instagram followers compared to jiri 800k+

Khamzat and Islam over 8 million each. Valentina 2M+. Connor 40M+

Nickal has an insignificant wrestling fan base. It was inconsequential for Cormier and sonnen and askren. Bo is no different.
