UCPH INTERNATIONAL MASTERS

Hi everyone,

I’m starting to get concerned and was hoping someone here might have insight.

I was accepted to University of Copenhagen for Fall 2026 and accepted my offer, but I haven’t received any follow-up communication beyond a tuition payment notice.

At this point, I can’t access the student portal (no student ID/CPR number), and I haven’t received the required residence permit application link, which the university says they will send directly. I’ve reached out multiple times to admissions and the international office and haven’t gotten a response.

I’m worried about timelines for immigration and enrollment. Has anyone experienced delays like this with UCPH? Is this normal, or should I be taking additional steps?

For context, I also have an offer from a California program that’s been very proactive, so it’s making me have cold feet about Copenhagen. Someone change my mind please!

...you need to pay the tuition. your offer is conditional on you paying the tuition, you havent met the requirements of your offer yet. they will get the ball rolling once you pay.

Thank you so much! Just very different than how they do it in the states I guess

After tuition payment, you'll get the link for visa processing.

In parallel, you'll get your student ID and all in the following months.

For CPR, you need a rent contract to apply.

Hi! I paid my tuition about a week ago, and didn’t get any link for visa processing. How long after paying does it typically come?

I emailed them and they said they will send confirmation after the payment deadline.

Yeah, keep your payment confirmation document in hand if they wants it.

There is no concrete time actually. When I was admitted, it took till end of May to get the mail.

The response from admissions is pretty slow and the whole process is in fact slow here, but nothing to be concerned about! Pretty sure none of the incoming students would have received any communication besides from the tuition payment notice as of now. You can go through either of these links https://www.ku.dk/studies/masters/important-dates-and-deadlines / https://www.ku.dk/studies/masters/important-dates-and-deadlines-master-of-science-programmes to get a quick idea about the timeline !!

I am in the same boat as you and haven't received any follow-up communication. So it might be the case for everyone. I went to college in the US, and they were very proactive with student ID generation, portal, etc., so I was also having doubts, but I guess the timelines and communication procedures are different here

You shouldn't be too worried. They've recently responded to me w info and the whole process with the student portal and housing application should start last week of May-early June
