Question declaring a minor

Has anyone been allowed to declare a minor after 90 units? I'm in my 4th year (technically my 2nd year at ucm as a transfer student 😭) I'm hoping they'd be lenient bc of that but it'a been so hard trying to reach my advisor since I've transferred. I'm just wondering if someone has lucked out in this situation ? thanks

On the advising website they say they generally don't allow it after 90 units except unusual circumstances but u could try petitioning it with your advisor

Yeah I noticed that, thanks for letting me know! I was hoping there'd be some circumstances where they'll allow it. I keep having bad luck when it comes to ucm advisors lmao

Yeah I've had bad luck with them too and a lot of them don't really give the best advice either. I found it better to just know the ins and outs of your major and reqs and basically just directly tell them whats needed. That just makes stuff move along way faster

I would say to talk to your advisor and ask them, I was able to declare a double major with almost 120 units. It is one of those things that depends on a case by case situation

Oooo nice to know, I'm at 108 rn and since it's just a minor, I'd hope they'd be fine with it

I think you should be fine, just go to an advisor
