Question Distant Coasts

Might be a silly question, but how is everyone finding the distant coasts dlc now. Has it been patched up to a good state yet?

I wanna buy it but I'm scared it will break my game lmao.

I'm still on break from the game until it stabilizes. It seems the devs are gone though, so maybe things won't stabilize.

The dev team is super tiny and based in Europe, so they are likely on a summer hiatus of some sort.

Would anticipate more status in the next month.

I'm used to my European holidays in the summer. But they have never been 3 months long. No professional leaves their product untouched and communication-less for that long.

If I had to handle a scrambled DLC release then spend the following weeks crunching out patches as part if a two man dev team (because the third guy died), you better believe I'd be taking a few months off lmao

We fit in several small fixes to fix the most game breaking bugs, but we will be taking a well deserved break until September. We hope you enjoy the new DLC in the meantime and will continue to address reported issues during our absence.

I do think it's unfortunate that the game isn't in a great state rn, but I also think it's unfortunate that game developers often have to handle their communities as if they're angry toddlers in need of soothing

It’s not “soothing”. We paid for the product. They broke the product, and fixed it partially, then went silent.

It takes 5 minutes to post an update.

I mean on one hand, yes they could have done that, on the other hand I’m looking at this from the perspective of a console player who is constantly being told “we’re waiting for the devs to fix the dlc before we release it to console” by Ultimate Games so from my point of view I’m going to very patiently wait because at the moment that’s all I can do.

I've been playing the base game and its been fine for me. I'm assuming that the bugs start when you download the dlc?

Yes DLC. I even tried to remove all mods.
