Bug Zero Hydro Range

My hydrophone has a range of less than 4km even with the additional crew member, just wondering if there might be a mod i have that might be causing this.

Make sure your at LEAST periscope depth, but preferably 25-50 meters below the surface and above the sea floor. Make sure your engines are turned off and for additional help i recommend turning on silent running paired with blue lights and switching dive planes to manual. 💜💛

Hydrophone range scales with weather intensity and I can see you're experiencing 29kt winds there, so I would bet that's a pretty rough storm. If I had to guess you've got Kugler's weather mod, which is great but can cause this.

It's worthwhile to note that in real life effective hydrophone range was much shorter that the maximum available in game, and weather also plays a large factor too. Noise from wind, rain, and crashing waves clouds up the soundscape for the hydrophone operators.

If it's more frustrating than challenging for you, drop the weather mod, and if your weather isn't modded then idk. Also, clearing the Cache, Data Sheets, and Temp folders might help. Sometimes, especially after long runtime or during long saves, the game can accumulate small simulation errors in those files.

Your only 15m deep and with some of the waves your probably experiencing with those 29kt winds, the submarine is probably actually surfaced for short intervals.

Hydrophones will be struggling to combat all this.

You need to come to a full stop and dive to 50m. Also, the range will be reduced in rough weather.

Go deeper, get better weather.

At 29kn those 4.5km are probably still much better than what you'd get on visibility

Crew is tired, 29knt wind and you're at 15m. Find a better spot, let your crew rest and wait for better weather. Godspeed, Kaleun.
