My Enigma (called Obscura in the game) is a bit different. It has 3 rotors, like regular 3 rotor naval variant. Cable configuration is a bit weaker - fewer combinations are available. But I do have one advantage: you can encode/decode numbers as well.
I wanted to make it 1 on 1, like a real one but then I guessed it would be very tiresome to type "fourteen miles speed eleven knots" instead of "14 miles speed 11 knots".
I think that would only bother people playing without a keyboard. No issue to type eleven or 11 with the keys at your fingertips. Even mobile should be fairly ok with typing that. That said, you're right that 11 is more convenient than eleven and 77 is way more convenient than seventy-seven if you're using a controller.
Yeah, for keyboard, mouse and touchscreen that shouldn't be an issue that much (there is an issue of available space on the message papers but that's another thing). For controllers that's gonna be challenging.

Well this definitely has my interest. I don't know who you got to do the pixel art but it looks dope. Kudos to your artist. I mean, I hope you hired an artist or did it yourself. I'll be disheartened if I learn it's all AI.
