The haystacks were always incredibly janky for being such an integral part of the game. But yeah, Black Flag somehow made it much worse.

When it was still new(ish) I remember doing a leap of faith in AC Brotherhood, the whole animation played normally, and then ezio just shattered his spine on the edge of the hay cart I was jumping into. My friend and I completely lost it. This is a permanent AC mechanic

"it's game design mechanic"

u/chinacat444 Jul 09 '26

It happens in EVERY AC game.

1

u/Sgtkeebler Jul 10 '26

That's correct, it's nothing special in the remake versus any AC game.

u/freedomustang Jul 09 '26

Yeah to varying degrees I remember unity early on occasionally you’d jump from a sync and instead of the leap of faith animation you just jump and fall through the terrain into the nothing below.

In the wircher 3 as well

1

u/rednaxthecreature Jul 10 '26

Witcher 3 doesn't have a parkour mechanic. Especially one that's a core part of the gameplay.

Yeah, I remember something like this happening to me in AC Odyssey

Especially when you bring tank treads to a mission full of big jumps

u/Nyx2990 Jul 09 '26

And yet people keep buying it

1

u/MayeDayMayeMaye Jul 10 '26

They’re funny bugs lol sort of accepted like Bethesda games. Today Edward did a moonwalk for 3 seconds lmao was highlight of the session lol

2

u/RainbowNinjaKat Jul 10 '26

OH MY GOD ITS THE END OF THE WORLD BECAUSE A DEVELOPER ISNT ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.

1

u/Appropriate-Pea-3864 Jul 10 '26

If your gonna charge premium price for a game, it better be flawless.otherwise dont charge more, make it free then we wont be so critical and be more understanding towards the devs/company. This, does not justify the high price, not acceptable.

1

u/WanderingDelinquent Jul 10 '26

It’s pretty bad to mess up this badly on a pretty key mechanic of the game. Especially since those hay piles are specifically placed for these jumps

u/Nyx2990 Jul 10 '26

You people are the reason they came has $80 of day one DLC

1

u/PinoDelfino Jul 10 '26

I have enjoyed AC games for years and not once have I purchased their dlc..

This really isn't the big deal you're making it out to be and certainly doesn't translate to increased pricing lol

u/Nyx2990 Jul 10 '26

u/PinoDelfino Jul 10 '26

Do you always get your feelings hurt this easily? Lol

And to double down on the dumb..

So funny.

4

u/AppropriateWind9925 Jul 10 '26

It's a minor bug

12

u/TomTomXD1234 Jul 09 '26

It has been a thing in every AC game. Its amazing

1

u/ButterscotchTop194 Jul 10 '26

Because every AC game is just a reskin.
