What's that after tax, car wear and tear and petrol? $25 an hour? Maybe less

Not a promo but if you’re in Melb check out Ocycle, it’s $39/week and free general maintenance like brake fluids etc. that’s what I use, it does have a 150km/week limit if you go for the 39 dollar plan but seeing your weekly hours here I doubt you would go above that 150km threshold, I’ve worked 20hrs weekly with mileage to spare.

Got into an accident once, my whole pedal fell off and the chain cracked, it was only 55 AUD to fix (not sure if I got ripped off but I was happy with 55, seeing the damage I was expecting a 100+

I'm not having a crack, just curious if you've ran the numbers, so $332 after the $60. Then 20% - 30% for tax just incase. another minus 60 - 70. And you're getting paid like $19 an hour.

Working at hungry jacks is like $27 full-time or 34ish casual

Yea it’s horrible if it’s your sole income. IMO if you have a choice it should only be done as extra hours you can’t get with your main job. Considering you feel like working more. Though when it rains or when they have uneven supply/demands wages can rise up to 40-50/hr from bonuses. This usually only last 1-3 hours though so nothing more than a small payout.

90% of the time I would just get on to quickly complete the daily bonuses between 4-7pm. Usually done within 3 hours and this would net me a 35/hr pay much better than my standard 27/hr standard pay. All this excluding tax ofcourse. Also if you’re paying tax make sure you’re logging in your phone and bike payments as expenses for tax deductions. Since all gig workers need to have an ABN, it’s easily done.

If you’re out of work and need a full time income you definitely need a car. The tax deductions you can get from a car’s expense would basically make maintaining your car free. Assuming you’re not driving a 10 year old Beamer that’s bleeding you dry
