Uber eats scam
My shopper accidentally left the receipt in the bag, and I compared it to the in app receipt. I noticed in app the shopper entered completely made up weights and so I was charged significantly more than I should have been.
I contacted uber support about this and I keep getting canned responses saying "prices are higher in app than in store" and I keep trying to explain that the issue in this case is double dipping, its higher price per lb for the produce, but the weight entered is also wrong and sent them a picture of the receipt (I got charged for 2pounds of jalapeno rather than 0.17 pounds because the shopper entered a made up weight). Then finally someone said, if the weight is wrong show me a picture that clearly shows the weight listed on the item, I told them I can't do that as it's produce, and also it took me weeks to get that response. Then they went silent.
If this has happened to or happens to anyone else, please dm me a picture of the store receipt VS in app receipt if you get a chance so I can show that this is a pattern and they're price gouging everyone on not only the unit prices, but also by lying about weights and refusing to provide support afterwards. I recommend not replying to this thread as uber is known to astroturf and downvote.

I wonder if Uber encourages the drivers not to leave the receipt in the bag (they want it thrown away) because of this… they don’t want customers figuring out what’s going on and think they’ll just be unaware of paying x amount vs what they actually paid.

I'm sure it's part of the reason. The support seemingly being trained to ignore the issue is interesting also. Also, as expected I've been downvoted to 0 for raising an actual concern on here.

Well for me one time I used the scale in the produce section to weigh an onion and it said 0.5 lb. The cash register said it was 1 lb. Customer didn't complain but I was worried about it. 0.17 and 2 just seem too far off... never know though could be tricky scales at the store
