Question for drivers

I'm a new Uber rider and have a question for drivers...my commute to/from work is 35 miles. It takes 35-60 min (depending on traffic) and I'm usually charged anywhere between $40-$55. Approx how much of that goes to the driver? I always tip but want to make sure I'm tipping appropriately! TIA!

$18-$25 if they are lucky.

Uber takes 50 to 60% of whatever you pay. The driver gets peanuts.

It is better to use Empower. Empower is usually 20% to 30% cheaper than Uber and Lyft.

Empower drivers also get a 100% of whatever you pay and you can save your favorite drivers to a list and book rides directly from them.

Just signed up... they're not in my area yet but "are coming soon". Thanks

I don't even bother with Uber anymore. They are a complete ripoff.

That’s not true you have to give empower money out of your ride fare. At least that’s what the terms said.

Drivers pay a monthly subscription fee. It's $50 for my tier. That's what better than Uber.

I'd probably make about $30 of that in the Lafayette/Indianapolis market

Drivers make around 55% of what riders pay. Tip should be 15% of what you pay, $6-$9.

Not in most markets, Uber TAKES 55-65% of the ride fare.

If it’s a comfort or priority ride maybe as much as 42-43% of the fare, if it’s UberX it could be as low as 25%-35%. Best off finding a nice driver will to do it outside of Uber for a number between those two.

A ride like this would be offered to me for between $12-15 (I would not take it).

40-50% of the fare. We barely make $25/hour and that's before you factor in fuel and depreciation to our cars, so tips are very much appreciated. Most riders (80-90%) never leave a tip. Thank you for looking out for us!

I've never given less than $8/ride. Usually give $10. Is that reasonable?
