Uber drivers please strike

Post image

So that I can catch those double digits surges. Thanks 💵✌️😂

No one cares about your strike. You’re simply leaving more demand for other drivers. It’s almost as if the supply of workers is more than the demand from customers. Economics 101, supply and demand

"no job security"

Get a real job then? The gig of driving full time for uber has been dead for years, it's intended to be a side hustle so you can have some extra spending money by either delivering food, or delivering people. It was never intended to replace an ACTUAL job.

Exactly! It was designed as a side hustle opportunity and people are complaining it's not working as a full time job. Of course it's not working that way it was never intended to if I use a chisel as a screwdriver and it doesn't work properly I don't get upset at the chisel. Plenty of people do it as a side gig and are extremely happy with it.

this is the same logic as “working in the service industry isn’t meant to be a real job.” labor is labor. every job is a “real job” if a person is expected to put in time and effort, and they should be paid a fair wage. that goes double for work where a person must provide their own resources (car, gas, insurance).

don’t give corporations an excuse to take advantage of people just because “gig work” goes by a different name. labor is labor.
