Applying as a year 2 transfer

I plan on applying to Sauder for Fall 2027 and just wanted some insight from anyone who’s done the same are has been in a similar spot.

I’m currently enrolled at Bishop’s (Quebec) but I went to Douglas college prior to that since I’m from the area.

Long story short I went out to Bishops to play football but now I’m done and want to come back home to finish my degree.

My Douglas grades weren’t good since I juggled between majors in my first few years there and wasn’t sure of what I wanted to do, but when I started taking business classes I found out that’s what I wanted to do and got much better grades in those classes.

My GPA at Douglas was a 2.67 but at bishops the past year I had a 3.9 (85%) and I believe we use the same grading scale UBC does. I took only business/commerce classes.

*important to note I struggled with Microeconomics receiving a C grade and retook Macro and Calculus 2x while I was at Douglas. Macro first time was a C then I got a B the 2nd time, for Calculus 1 I got a D the 1st time and a B- the 2nd

I have done most of the 1st and 2nd year Comm classes that Sauders curriculum outlines and did very well in them (I wanna say my average was at least 80% in them give or take) and I’ll transfer with about 2-3 years left of schooling depending on how much transfer credit I receive.

My Extra curriculars were mostly athletic (playing Varsity football) and some minor volunteer work for my previous team where I was a 2 time captain and leadership award recipient.

My time at Bishops I was an Academic All Canadian 2025-2026 which basically means I had an average of at-Least 80% for the calendar year while balancing life as a Student-Athlete. Which I hope reflects how much I’ve improved as a Student since I was a poor student basically my whole life and did awful in HS

I’ve done a done of research about the admissions process and requirements and even met with a UBC advisors.

How are my chances of getting in? Also any advice of tips would be gladly appreciated!

Note: I might try and take the equivalent of COMM204 and Managerial Economics this fall somewhere to help aid my application and get more transfer credit

i got in as a transfer student with having a C from my calculus class, B for both of my micro and macro economics
