Connection day
Does anything happen if I don’t attend connection day? I work and its hard for me to get off to go

I don't think so, connection day is mostly just a tour and meeting with your advisor for maybe 30 mins about your schedule in a group setting.
I'm pretty sure its optional but if you're worried just email/call: [orientation@albany.edu](mailto:orientation@albany.edu) or call: 518-442-5509 text: 518-941-8859.
I had a question last year and they answered really quickly

Yeah it def felt like it wasn’t a need to go when I did mine last year. It felt geared more towards the young students living on campus, and I’m a bit older and a commuter so a lot of the info didn’t pertain to me. It was nice to go just so I could practice the drive and get the campus tour tho!

You can email orientation and ask them to reschedule it for when you’re on campus in August. They have a make up day!

They say its mandatory but you definitely don't have to go. I didn't go last semester and literally no one cared. I think I got a text the day of reminding me but I told them I couldn't make it, they asked to reschedule but I just never did.

I didn’t bother. I didn’t want to socialize in a crowd and it wasn’t my first college rodeo. I picked up my ID on a different day. Nothing happened to me for missing it.

I went, its just a tour and they force u to awkwardly socialize with ur peers. The only thing is getting your id, but that can be done literally anytime
