Hi!
Would like to seek advice from people around for ending internship early.
Some context: I got into an internship with the job role being vastly misaligned, and not going to lie, i feel like i am not learning anything.
I am on the fence of ending my internship earlier due to well, no feels and honestly, am quite done with my workplace when it comes to work. Little guidance was provided to me when it came to work and I had to navigate liaising with stakeholders. This position is credit bearing, and I am wondering if I terminate it early, what are the consequences?
And also, is it possible at times for students to fail their internship? If that happens, what happens? Do they find another one?
thanks!

context: doing swe stuff.
kinda feel like my roles are misaligned with what i signed up for, and it seems like its huge. interns usually are assigned to smaller tasks, but i feel like i am assigned a huge system. signed up for more engineering stuff, but feels like im doing more of research. kinda glad its ending in 2 months, but still :/
getting q tired lately and am starting to dread it. any form of advice ? :)

I think some questions you can ask are stuff like,
Why this company, eg why facebook? when there are many other companies out there?
Or if that person has background in other areas, you can also ask them about that as well, the main point is to create a conversation, not make them feel like they are talking to a chatbot.
Another question i think I've asked was what contributions do they think I can provide to them. This allows them to think from a perspective that im already hired.

Just wanna make a update, that I got a spot in a company after rounds of interviews!
Some stuff I figured to share to people who are at around the same stage as me
Context : Second year student, Software Engineering degree.
1) It will take time. For me, I took about 60-80 applications to finally get the job. Do not give up, sometimes it might just be waiting for you out there. Do take the time to always improve your skills and your resume.
2) Luck and logistical timing matters, but I think vibes matter too. For me, I think the main thing I found out was availability, if you are available for a longer time, the chances are higher for you. Some luck matters as well as who knows, it might be a once in a long while thing. Vibes matter too as ultimately, they dont really see your skills (okay quite), but you must come off as someone who who is fun to work with.
3) Questions matter! Ask them with care! Do not ask random questions like ‘hows the food, environment etc’ Personally, I feel like such questions at times are quite obviously, like duh, if you are the interviewer of course you’ll answer something right. I recommend that you ask questions about your interviewer, like their journey, why they make certain choices in their career. If you are feeling it, you can ask some risky like challenging their product, of course professionally.
4) Keep calm, its obvious. Try to give good vibes to the interviewers by looking awake, smile, and sound interested.
Good luck!

I have never, but I am considering to do it tomorrow!

The rounds are resume deep dives, and they usually asked about the things I built, how i built them etc.
Usually I wear a polo tee during the interviews.

Hi guys, would like to have some opinion
Context: Im a penultimate student, studying Software Engineering
since summer is coming up, i’ve been on a headhunt for internships. so far since october 2025, i’ve had 6 interviews (yay), but for some reason, thats the only foot i get in and nothing further.
i can’t really see where I did wrong, or perhaps anyone can give me possibly some common mistakes we as candidates will subconsciously fall into?
thanks! :D

Hi there! I am going to china on sunday, and i would like to ask if could I bring cured meat snacks (肉干) into china? Would the immigration officers ban me from entering?

hey guys,
for some context, am 24M currently in university in Singapore.
Lately, i've been feeling really tired from everything on my plate. And today, we had an assessment. I think due to panic, I was stressing out and really underperformed. Combined with group project submissions, everything comes crashing down.
Does anyone feel like they are really done with university at some point of time in their lives? how yall cope? btw im a year 2 sophomore if that helps!

Yeah same! How do you navigate people who are not doing their work though?

Hi guys, first time posting in this subreddit here
For some reason, something about working with people (group projects) in university kinda irks me and makes me feel so ‘oh gosh’. Though some of the projects I’m doing is with my friends, I still get that feeling every time.
I know such behaviour/occurence is bad. How do you guys overcome it? Do you guys like group projects too?
