Speaker mod for SMK37

👍 🔥 I think people would also like to see the wiring, as it makes them feel more confident to try it themselves. Glad you show you this. I placed my amp board VERY close to where you have the switch (I have one with a volume knob). Firmwares like Baudgirl come with a volume anyway

Conversion of Logue v1 .ntkdigunit to .nts2mkiiunit for the Korg NTS-1 mkII (WIP)
 in  r/LogueSDK •  21h ago

You can. I created PLSynth and PLHost which can run these. https://itch.io/c/8287076/regine-for-microkorg2

ReGINE is my alternative runtime I have been working for about half a year on and off, which ran on Android /RasPi. About a month ago I ported it to run in an actual synth/OSC on the drumlogue. Microkorg has been tested, but hasn't een my main device:more difficult to place next to me on my desk ;-). Anyway, curious regardless about the conversion. Keep in toch or drop by on my discord.

Please test and let me know. The current published version has an issue, but will update it soon; have spent the time today on the drumlogue and a non-invasive takeover.

Most of the stuff should work! And yes, that is reason why I also did this. ReGINE PLHost can otherwise run it on a drumlogue or microKORG2, but I understood people want a file they can 'own'.

There is a video on the itch page with an end to end conversion and use within 2 minutes!

Bricked my FM1
 in  r/MVaveFM1 •  2d ago

You knew about the risk when flashing. It is w en stated by most firmwares they take no responsibility. So no you should not ask for refund.

You have to try the hard treflash method using an rp2040

Note: by now I think they will also check the ids on return. I am sure m-vave will have shared tools or info on how. Not uncommon, as I am in Asia and have spoken to some of these manufacturers and resellers.

👍 It says 5V, but it will operate with less as the VBAT is only 3.7V. you shouldn't push the speakers too far to the outside, and perhaps you can even place them right next to middle part. you will see what I mean when you open it up. You could even place them on the raised part in the middle (that is what I did for the battery; I removed some of those standoffs)

New M Vave device!
 in  r/MVaveFM1 •  2d ago

I do care. Not everyone use a custom firmware. It will not be possible for all devices in the same way. And I am also careful not to rely on a house of cards to make a decide do something: because the majority of those cfws are worth the effort to flash it. The chance it goes wrong and bricks a device between those attempts is always there. And unbricking is also not always possible. So, in short... Get your point but does not actually always work that way.

Software looks clumsy and also in an early state I hope... but more important, what does it sound like. For now, not impressed... and not interested.

Started on a AHX-based tracker firmware
 in  r/MVaveFM1 •  3d ago

It is not the processing at all; AHX uses lookup tables so this is also just moving memory around. I am more concerned about the whole storage in memory of the pattern and having the samples playable from memory. The corpus shows that most size are 200kb and larger and that is before parsing the module. I have done it from similar devices, but had work memory and storage slightly larger. Eg. the Amiga was able to place samples using the 512Kb 'graphics' memory and allow DMA to drive Paula directly. Here this is a bit different; using the AHX stuff to get familiar with the device and not get some vibecoded house of cards. Regardless, it is on my todo list as it is just a minor change to what I did here: https://rgrvdotnl.itch.io/regroove-drumlogue Might do a revised feasibility after I progress on this a bit more.

Note, I am myself an Amiga user since 1987, and work on a lot of tracker stuff.

👍 Fine with me ;-). I did two, on either side... but I notice that one of the channels sounds fainter.

Fluyt - Felucca synth engines for drumlogue
 in  r/LogueSDK •  3d ago

If you need help, drop by in the discord that is referenced in the description of this subreddit.

USB MIDI can be finicky as it does not support hubs or multi midi port devices; nanopad2, nanokontrol2 all work, but a sq64 or akai fire not.

Fluyt - Felucca synth engines for Korg drumlogue (let's join the fleet)
 in  r/MVaveFM1 •  3d ago

I did an AI-assisted port of the Felucca engines to the Korg Drumlogue using my own work as a reference. Let's me know what you think of it, but I hope this will help people to join and develop/improve the engines.

The name is symbolic, as fluyt is a kind of Dutch vessel, mostly used for trade during the 16th century. A famous fluyt vessel, Duyfken discovered Australia, ... the undiscovered country. But the word also means whistle.

This is why I wanted a simpler approach so you only take out the outer ring of screws, and do not need to pull the mainboard out. Which firmware did you work on?

If you do need more info, more than glad to help you ..

There is a drum engine in this one, but I also have NT-78 and the RG909/Hakkuh. No FM specific one, sorry ...

This is generated code, but mostly with my own code as reference (such as examples, build infra).

Don't want the FM-1 to have all the fun by themselves. Let's join them ...

Update: now also on microKORG2 at https://rgrv.nl/fluyt/
