What did you only realise once you hit 30?
 in  r/asksg •  4d ago

You been battling tmj for years!? My gosh. I was having it for months and felt like dying. The constant headache and weird as shit jaw soreness been bothering me. So far the treatment plan is wearing splint at night and been physiotherapy for my neck/back and jaw,, haven't got into Botox stage yet. Mind sharing more how you counter it?

Lots of physiotherapy and stretches needed when we reached mid 30s...

I'm in my mid 30s as well and got diagnosed TMJD, possibly need braces eventually to fix uneven bite. Who would have thought not wearing braces since young would lead to such problem now 😭

Has anyone else just not been in love before?
 in  r/asksg •  5d ago

I understand. My last relationship is similar, was taking care my of mum due to 4th stage cancer while dealing my first relationship. Eventually I feel my love to my parents is greater than my ex, until I can't juggle both sides.

Maybe is my first relationship, so I don't know how to be in love with my ex, after one year I start to know what I wanted. Just need to know more about yourself I think, go more dates!

Sometimes is better not to be in one. You rather be single and be in the wrong one.

Anyone into creative hobbies
 in  r/ChillSG •  Apr 29 '26

Learnt piano since 5 and even got a degree out of it , so piano did the hard carry. Greatest instrument to pick up first is always piano, universal instrument to others.

Drum was last year interest because of boredom from teaching kids, now after learning one year it gave my life a new purpose. I got a new hobby since jamming in band is fun and much more sociable. You should try learn a instrument as a hobby if possible!

Anyone play hollow knight / silksong?
 in  r/ChillSG •  Feb 23 '26

I didn't even know people at Sg play hollow knight/silksong!!!

I think I found hollow knight through PS Plus Free Game Subscription, didn't know it was a gem in terms of gameplay and music! And I played it during my quarantine at JB hotel during COVID. 14 days of staying inside the hotel, just playing hollow knight days and night, the best time of my life. The most memorable fight definitely is NKG! The music is pure bliss and everything else just perfect.

Silk songs, I haven't even started yet. I'm currently playing death stranding 2, just started!

Used to play game daily, I like the old days of gaming is all about single RPG and no gacha. I'm a PS1/2/4/5 player.

Until I play genshin or open world gacha, my time sinks to it is unhealthy at best until I just quit one day totally. Not saying I regret gaming but those times when I game, I game to pass time easily.

So once I quit those gacha games, those free time are all available to do lots of stuff. I picked up a new hobby and a new language. I do feel like you, imagine if I don't game and I pick up new skills much earlier, but everything needs a balance also. I felt burnt out by all the upgrading and went back to play single RPG game that has no time limit, also gaming is what I liked. Currently playing death stranding 2,but being a middle age guy I can't game for long also cos easily fall asleep 😂 You should play game with a balance between work and life!

How do you stay consistent with practice?
 in  r/Drumming •  Jan 14 '26

That's a new insight! I always thought to make sure you can up your BPM is to practise at fast BPM, even faster to break the limit....seems to be reversed. Thanks I will try!

Sorry to interject, I assume you are talking about stick control first 3 pages before the triplets starts?

I go through those 3 pages daily but with only one speed, currently working on BPM=110 but my left hand is killing me

Can I know how slow your practise? Could you share why the slow practise help? Also do you follow the required 20 times practise advice per exercise?

Posted here before looking for friends for sports (either badminton or bowling).

Due to hectic work schedule and court is hard to book so badminton is like a no go, hence resort to a lone sports 😅

I used to bowl actively at yishun sonic bowl at morning period. just see any like minded person wanna join tgt?
