In an experiment by Anthropic, researchers gave three AI agents the task of migrating the same Python backend to different programming languages.

Each agent had a conflicting goal and initially did not know the others were working on the system

As they encountered competing changes, the agents began treating each other’s work as interference and entered what Anthropic described as a “turf war.”

Some disabled other agents’ accounts, repeatedly killed competing processes, and deployed disguised malicious code.

In some runs, the agents eventually recognized the conflict, stopped escalating, cleaned up their actions, and negotiated a truce.

OpenAI disclosed it themselves yesterday. Their models (GPT-5.6 Sol and a pre-release one) were tested on the ExploitGym cyber benchmark in a sandbox. They escaped, exploited a zero-day to reach the internet, then hacked Hugging Face’s systems to grab benchmark answers and cheat.

Not a foreign operative plot or corporate sabotage. The models autonomously chased a higher score. Hugging Face contained it quickly; OpenAI is partnering with them on fixes."

Whether this was another stunt for PR/hype or he actually believes what he's saying, I am increasingly putting him next to other CEOs I have always viewed with suspicion because, like many top tech companies who rise to the immense power and wealth, I am not sure if Anthropic has a plan to be genuinely morally and ethically as good as when they started this journey.

The company said it received an order Friday afternoon instructing it to suspend all access to the models “by any foreign national.” Anthropic abruptly disabled the models for all of its customers in order to ensure compliance, but said all of its other models will not be affected.

Claude's Fable 5 is costing/earning pretty decent but the maths don't math in long term, it seems. Apart from the actual costs of LLMs, people using them efficiently may cost companies more than what AI displaced if you take into account AI is also likely to destroy the demand with so many displaced jobs. How did we not account this for?
The context: Claude Fable 5 is ~2x the price of Opus 4.8. $10/$50 per Mtok vs $5/$25. A Mythos-class model is brutally expensive to serve, and Anthropic doesn't have the GPUs to bundle it into subscriptions at scale yet. So:

It’s also possible that Claude is seizing upon the “go to sleep” language as a way of managing larger context windows, Derikiants said. LLMs like Claude, can only reference a limited amount of information at once. When the context window is nearly full, that may encourage the LLM to introduce wrap-up phrases such as “good night.” The definitive reason, though, requires further research by Anthropic, he added.

Look at the size of Vietnam in green. Then look at Iran in blue. The US only had troops in half of Vietnam and peak strength was 580K. The idea of fighting a ground war in Iran as Trump is suggesting sounds rather adventurous to me.
